    Baclofen and Anon

Could I have hit the switch at 50mgs? I am 9st or 1301bs Sleeping like a baby, snoring and dry mouth.
I fancy a drink but am able to say no very easily. Up to recently I have had to struggle every day and would easily have drunk a bottle of wine and some Gin too but have white knuckled it for months and given in a few times.

Also I have now ordered from 4RX and my visa card provider informed me it is a dodgy firm and have seen scams on visa cards. I have tried their UK no and no answer! Website will not let me send emails. Any ideas? They have cancelled my card but have let this transaction through.

Its certainly a possibility. If you were white knuckling it for months before starting Bac I would suggest that your job has just been made that much easier but that maybe you haven't yet become indifferent to alcohol.

More information about your titration schedule and drinking habits would be useful.
Started Baclofen 3/9/10 Hit my switch at 250mg on 21/11/10 Present maintenance dose of 50mg : started drinking after 1 year, upped dose to 80mg and stopped: Tapered to 30mg, started 6 months of drinking, upped dose to 240mg to stop 12/7/12

Thanks ig for your reply. I started at 10mgs and upped it every 5 days by 10mgs until I got to 50mge yesterday.:thanks:
My drinking was every day not sure how much but anything I could get. A bottle of wine with maybe 3 large G&Ts.
It has been hard for me as I live with a man who can drink just one glass of wine but LOVES his wine.
I have been trying really hard since about May last year but have given in loads of times but have kept on trying. The trigger was falling in August and breaking lots of bones when drunk THE SHAME OF IT!
Cannot write any more just now as I am off for a run, not something I could have said on a Saturday morning last year.

Dr. Levin has a definition for the switch that might be of some use to you.

Hmm...Well I'm not going to go quote it because it's neva's interpretation of Dr. L's words (however accurate I am sure that it is). She said that he said...wow, look at me, I graduated high school a decade ago I swear...she said that he said the switch is when you stop and, all of a sudden, realize: "I haven't thought about alcohol in three weeks!"

Give it some time, if you haven't already. How long has it been?

Does Goldpharma ship to the UK? I've found them to be reliable.

Hi and thanks Loop, I have only felt like this for a few days (not wanting a drink) But have been sober for months with just a few slips.
          will keep titrating up.

Plenty of people around here found indifference at low doses. And it sounds like you are among them. Congratulations, and good for you for your abstinence!
Glad you posted this, it gives me hope and renewed commitment.
(That is indeed what I wrote down, and I wasn't drunk, so here's hoping that it was relatively accurate! )

Congrats anon! That's super! And very impressive that you white-knuckled it for four months. You must be a very strong person. :goodjob:
