    THANK BACOFLEN FOR THAT!

Okay, where is Merseyside? :-) the gain is worth it though right? I do not want to be wine driven for the rest of my life! My life sucks right now. I have ordered the Baclofen; I WILL do anything to escape this habit or "addiction" as they say!

Cannot start BAC sooner as I need to be alert for grandchilren/driving and running.
Once I have taken 1st dose I am usually fine.
:l Great to hear that you have reached the switch on 50 mgs a day.

I take my first 5 mgs in the morning at about nine or ten and the second 5 mgs 2 to 3 and the last 5 mgs around 8ish or so - there is no set pattern really.

How long have you been on Bac? Personally, I think you should be taking 5 mg early in the morning and this would get rid of the craving then spread them out till about 10 at night so that the body gets small and often rather than loads at one go. That's just how I would go about it but maybe you could try this on a day when you are not driving etc. and see how you feel. I have had no sleepiness or any other such side effect throughout the past 11+ months. I have had body aches, however, but they have lessened since I cut out the 5 mg - was taking 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the evening before then. I also think that stopping alcohol altogether after so many years does take a bit of time for the body and brain to adjust. However, I have been driving, shopping, etc with no probs from day one.

I too am a grandparent. Thanks to Baclofen I no longer dread the next time I hit the bottle. This is being sober all the time. This is living life to the full. This is being in control. And this is being the best grandparent I could wish to be - loving every minute of it! I will be forever grateful to Dr. A for writing his book and sharing his experience of Baclofen. Because of him and bac., I am now experiencing what I can only say is like a new lease of life and far away from the vicious circle of dispair.

Best of wishes to you and to everyone else out there still riding the waves towards the switch - believe you me, it will all be worth it when that button is hit! K. :h

:h I'm on 5 mg x 3 a day. Was on 10 mgs x 2 a day but cut out 5 mg as I was having body aches. My life is mine now and no longer belongs to a bottle of wine. Best wishes to you on your journey. Please see all my posts which are in reply to others on this forum and may help. :thanks:

              Thank You,
I can not wait to free my life. How can wine control me? But it has and does. I am going to win this war even though battles have been lost!

:l Have your reached the switch at 50 mg? Do you get body aches? I lowered the dose by 5 mg to 15 after a few months and the body aches are hardly there anymore. K:h

Hi Full English and thanks for your post. Didn't realise how very lucky I am that I've beaten the Beast at such a low dose till I started reading threads and posts on this wonderful forum. The SE's have been few and far between too. However, I read on in awe of everyone who posts and starts new threads and wish them all well. K.:h

Hi Katherine, no, haven't hit the switch, nowhere near - I have no body aches. However, I feel high, dizzy, weak, exhausted, nauseaus. I'd prefer body aches though!
