    Virus from online pharmacy

I just wanted to warn everyone that I have received a virus from one of the online pharmacy sites. I?m unable to be more specific as to which site, sorry. No music files will play, and I am struggling to connect to the internet. The spam I am receiving gives no clue. I run a fairly sophisticated, paid for antivirus (Symantec), so beware with standard antivirus programs. It is definitely from one of them, and not a porn site or other such dubious ones.

Sorry I can?t be specific as to site. It is one of the 4 or 5 major ones listed here.
Having hit the switch, I now post under the username "bleep". Look forward to seeing you on the other side...

Are you sure you've not been on any other sites?I went on a film-streaming site yesterday, and was immediately attacked by trojans.

No, my browsing has been super-standard. Plus, I am now getting tons of spam that say they are about medicine, but are filled with stuff about George Bush.

I get loads of that sort of stuff anyway - which type of email do you use?I use hotmail and get it all the time, it's pretty standard if you've been anywhere on the net even more so bought anything. Companies use several methods in order to harvest emails, none of which involve viruses. More the fact you've submitted your address somewhere.

Is it a webmail account i.e. do you go to a webpage and logon?or do you use outlook to view?

If it's a webpage you log in by this isn't a virus, it's an address harvester. Either external or because the site passes on your email address.

Its a webmail account. The spam isn't the virus, but my computer is definitely ill.

A week later, and despite repeated virus checks, nothing found. The issues seem to have resolved themselves, so perhaps I was being alarmist. Sorry.
