No gun. It's in a national park, and they frown on that sort of thing. But we'll be okay, if past experience is anything to go by. The long term plan is to get a weapon on-site, but for now we just take precautions, like not showering!
I'm sure it's the same over there in Grizzly-land. Don't go irritating them, be sensible, etc, and you shouldn't end up on the menu. I still can't get over the fact that you are only allowed to mace them! Has anyone ever successfully defended themselves against a grizzly with mace?
