Ah, someone has voted "never", which gives us 3 variables, I think that makes it easier, and there are less incidences where all the numbers will tie up. Sorry for the derail.

[POLL] Did baclofen help you get rid of your alcohol problem?
Obviously, I got wa-ay too much time on my hands.
Anyway, each percentage value times the number of poll-takers must be a whole number. Swiping a few columns in Excel gives the possible results (multiples of the base number). Then looking at subsequent changes in the poll results pinpoints the actual number (ignoring unlikely scenarios).
I would request that the OP just post the actual poll numbers along with the percentages.
The latest breakdown is helped=16, no=4, won't try=1 .

anonymity,I said it before, good idea. Can I humbly suggest you edit the poll, before we lose all the original voters. I'm sure people won't mind voting again.
Perhaps include "hit the switch" "helped" "didn't help" and "won't take it". Maybe get a few more ideas before you (if) you do it.

Cool. There is a pressing need for this sort of thing, more of the double-blind randomized trial sort of thing, but a start is a start.
A difficulty occurs to me, but I don't see a way around it - someone can answer "helped", then a little later hit the switch. Any idea's? I suppose it won't skew the results too badly anyway, as they are both positives.
10 points for initiative.

I'm not sure if this is going to help in any way. Lot's of people left MWO 'unhelped' or 'after-switch'. Or are in the middle of a journey.
10 people have 10 different experiences with Bac. Some do 400 mg/d others 40 mg/d. Some go up, can't manage the SE's, and taper down again.
There are no lessons learned from a poll like this, besides that it is fun.
If you want to know what the results will be in your case, you should just try it Anonymity. Go up, take the pills, suffer a little, hope you only get the 'usual' Se's (insomnia, hazy, forgetting everything, feeling like falling asleep through the day, feeling disconnected), and titrate up 'till you don't want a drink anymore.

I only started Bac yesterday, so I'm not sure what the SEs are going to be like for me, but...

So far (2 days on 25/day) the only SE I'm getting is being a tad spaced........which is kinda nice.
We'll see what happens.

Hang in there, Murphy! It's not always easy, but the pay off is remarkable.
:welcome:
I voted "it's helping." No switch, but I'm drinking like a 'normal' person. Still, that's not my goal, so will continue until I reach indifference.

Another Success story
Hi All,
This is an important thread for people that are looking to get rid of alcohol once and for all. I am one of the success stories - almost one year AF thanks to Baclofen and MWO. For those that are new here and truly want to get rid of this demon called alcohol - Baclofen is the real deal - it works.

[POLL] Did baclofen help you get rid of your alcohol problem?
Hi,
I'm new here and have been reading about bac for the past two weeks, both the book as on this board. I'm not english so excuse me if I write a little strange.
What I wanted to say was that the poll really does help me to reach a decision. 44% of the voters hit the switch (must be around 8 people). That is encouraging.
I already ordered the baclofen online but it seems to take a very long time to arrive. I'm not sure if I need to do anything to "prepare". Start moderating the amount i drink, quit before I start bac? Is there anything I can do?
Thank you everyone, you are brave to tell your story here. It has already helped me. I feel hopeful and a bit scared at the same time. But it has to change. I lost so much, my marriage, my job, my energy, my self worth...
