Bleep- sorry, I've been away for a few days. I have 13 packets of ten mg tablets left, so about 130 pills left. Here's the thing, I ordered on June 30th. They said it shipped August 5th and I should expect it August 31st. Can you believe that? 26 days to send something by airmail? We could send a rocket to the moon and get it back before then! I sure don't remember it taking that long before. Aarrrgh!:

Hey toots (that's you Murph),

How's the gabapentin helping? I may have missed it but am hoping for your experience with it, now you've been on it a few weeks. I know you said the "high" went away. Has it taken away any drinking thinking/cravings? Were you still having them (I assume yes, I think you said 10% of what you'd have pre-HDB).

Looking forward to a lengthy and fun filled update.

I wish you hadn't asked for a fun-filled update, Bruun. Now I feel under pressure. I prefer just to take it easy and let the fun come in its own time, you know? Not force it. It never works out well when you try to force it. Either I'll try too hard to come up with one really great joke, I'll over think it and it'll fall flat and never reach a satisfying punchline or I'll blurt out a whole bunch of jokes all at once and punchlines will be flying all over the place before you're ready for them.

The gabapentin: As you know, when I took it the first time (600mg) I got all sorts of stoned...not what I was looking for. Since then I've been taking it 300mg am 300mg pm. For a week or so I was still getting a light buzz in the afternoons but that's all gone now.

The reason I was taking it was for its anti-depression/anxiolytic/mood enhancement properties and it seems to be working. I say it seems to be 'cos I'm not sure whether it's the gabapentin or one of the other changes I made around the same time. I also started taking 5-HTP 50mg am & pm, reduced my bac dose from 325/day to 175, titrated down on buproprion, began taking 5gm L-Glut 3x daily, Omega-3 (veggie version) and God knows what other supp/herb/nutri/vit changes I've made around the same time. I seem to take a shit-load of tabs, tinctures and powders these days. Anyway, something's working for the depression and mood enhancement, although the anxiety is still there, so I've still got to find a solution to that.

As far as booze is concerned I don't get drunk, I have no desire to get drunk and wouldn't welcome drunkenness but I do drink a (relatively) small amount, perhaps one or two per day. No big deal in itself, but it's still against my will and that being the case perhaps I won't be able to control it if it should start to escalate. So, I ain't a completely happy bunny. It doesn't seem to matter how much or little bac I take, my drinking remains the same. Oooooooh, I just dunno, ya know?
