Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary

redhead77;1165225 wrote: Now that I've gotten over the panic of how close Sept 1st is, I've sussed out my plan of attack. No nicotine replacement products for me. The patch gives me a rash (sensitive skin), and it won't stay on me. I think I reject it. :H I could try duck tape, or that really sticky medical tape, but hells no. The gum gives me a tummy ache and it's loaded with aspartame. Same with the lozenges. Not that aspartame could be worse than the 400 chemicals in fags, but who knows? I think it's evil. Snuss is just plain out disgusting. I could try to use that vaporless cig, but what's the point? I'm white knuckling, cold turkeying it.

Except, I'm going to search for a hypnotist, and look into either acupuncture or acupressure.
yer so sensitive. :H It's duct tape. You wouldn't use duck tape on principle, I think. Plus that would be really yucky. Almost as disgusting as Snus. Which you denied vehemently at the time and now I have a drawerful of it. You owe me $29.99 plus shipping. Given the flux in economies right now, you could wait until just the right day, send me a pound and call it even. (your dollars are pounds and your pounds are kilos and your temps are just silly. Don't even get me started about GMT. I am down with the rest of the metric system, though. Inches are ludicrous.)
No way in hell I'm doing it without as much help as I can get. I already have a large supply of patches, gum and lozenges. Maybe wellbutrin? I think Chantix is bad, but can't remember why.
Hypnotist? hmmm. I've tried thinking my way out of a different addiction. Didn't work so well. I'll stick with meds and supps. But lemme know if it works.

Red's in too?! Exercise plan must be put in place. No extra kilos needed, thank you.

          Murph,

Our water is that bad? Thank God my wine was from Australia.
But, I'd rather drink shitty water then to go back to that nightly routine!
Rudy, make sure your windows are always open! :H

          Ne,
I know they blamed Chantix on a guy here that went berserk and killed his girlfriend. Wellbutrin supposedly mirrors Zyban and I reall think might be basically the same with different names. Here it is:
GlaxoSmithKline "repackaged" Wellbutrin and marketed it as the smoking-cessation drug Zyban.
Good luck you guys. Looks like Brian and I are going to go 30 days AF in September; hopefully we won't take up smoking and y'all won't take up drinking.

Have a great Thursday (formally in my past life known as "thirst-day")

Wellbutrin does help me cut back on cigs. I went off it a few weeks ago. I had a patient who tried quitting with everything. Chantix was finally the thing that worked. She smoked heavily for 30 years. To be honest, I'm a little scared of it. People have gone postal. I don't think many, but just my luck...:nutso:. I'm scared to take it on HDB. And have enough to figure out with my foods, supps, and pills.

Ne! I was thinking the same thing about the weight. I just lost a bunch.

Snuss it is for you Murph?

Ne and Murph, do you guys want to have a threesome someday?

              LL,
Yes, Wellbutrin is the same as Zyban. I went to my Dr to perscribe Zyban and I got Wellbutrin - originall a AD that was later found to reduce cravings in smokers (sound familiar? Ha!) I am not sure if the Wellbutrin helped me quit or not. I know I became a bear while taking it so dont really know if it was the giving up the smokes or the drug! Either way, 7 years NF.

hey you guys! don't be a crybaby like pete! birds shitting on you means good luck will come your way very soon. like maybe you'll find a paper towel.

curly, i guess on costal new england they don't have rattlers. but here in the hudson valley they scare small children. i have friends who just built their house on the edge of a ledge (i hope they've put in a good fence by now, to protect those small children). in that ledge, and around it in their wood piles, reside large and noisy rattle snakes. oh my! and climbers in the gunks must be careful, lest they mistake a gushy rattler for a solid hand-hold.

and yes, murph, we have bears here. lots of them. when you come to visit, i'll take you for a walk and we can look for their scat and examine their scratch marks on the trees. here we have black bears, which are pretty shy, so if you walk with lots of pots and pans and bang them as you go, talking loudly to your companion like americans are so good at doing, you will probably be safe from attack. but your chickens never will be. unless you wind electrical wire around the area of their coop which is already solid-tight with doors and latches. nope, here in america we have so much land it would be impossible to kill all the beasts for our living comfort. alas.

But we're trying, and have gotten pretty damn close.

The black bears on the Appalachian Trail are practically domesticated. It's amazing. Ed and I literally stepped over fresh scat on a well used trail. As in still steaming. 'cause apparently, that's what you do. And also what you do is that you don't try to pet them. No one has been that stupid yet.

Ed and I once got frisky in a mountain field in Yellowstone. Well, more than one. But this particular one is (sort of) relevant because the area was closed because of grizzly activity. We saw the big red signs on the way out of the pass. We had a picnic, and a bunch of wine, too. We would have been very tasty without much getting in the way! whew. Living on the edge. I know.

didn't want to get off topic from the themes: sex. poop. animals. check, check, check. YW.
