True, but neither of them are as hot as Christine O'Donnell, who so far this week has walked off a CNN interview and a radio interview

I want to know what else will be above the table though? How low is the table?

Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary
I have been lurking for a while and wanted to say that I quit smoking, it will be 2 years in October. I smoked for almost 35 years, and it wasn't months and months of agony for me. I took Wellbutrin for a couple of months, but then didn't really need to keep taking it. Here is a link to an online course that helped me if you haven't already seen it.
also you can join Quit Smoking All Together: the Web's Largest Quit Smoking Community for free, I paid for the premium service for the first few months, but you don't have to.
I have been taking baclofen for about a month, not really very seriously because I was still drinking and not remembering to take it (after starting to drink in the evenings). I am now on day 6 AF and I am up to 90/day, with the plan of going up 20 every 3 days. I just starting getting the sleep apnea thing last night and hope it is temporary.
I am hoping the alcohol goes the way of the cigarettes because the thought of a cigarette to me now is pretty disgusting and I can't imagine that I did that to myself all those years.
My husband smokes and drinks (a lot). This was always an excuse why I couldn't quit smoking and is currently an excuse and an obstacle of not quitting drinking, but also a motivation when I see how he is when he is drunk and I'm not.
Thanks for this thread, it is helping me (and the whole site).

Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary
Hi Time
Ahhh, the Wellbutrin, I entirely forgot about its supposed help with smoking cessation. I?ve been taking it for a year or more (?) for depression but I?m in the process of tapering off it at the moment. Oh well, I?d better just hope it doesn't screw up my giving up the ciggies.
It?s great that you?re giving baclofen a real go now but I would suggest the rate at which you?re titrating up is possibly a bit on the fast side. It can take 5 or more days for your brain to become accustomed to new levels of bac, so I would personally suggest you leave it a week between increases. That should also give you a chance to, if not get over, at least get used to any side effects you do encounter. Going up every 3 days is likely to just compound any S.E.s.
I did what you?re doing, more or less, and upped the dose by large increments in a very short timescale. I reached ?indifference? very quickly, in just 8 days, but I?ve since spent the last 6 months adjusting to that rapid titration. I have an idea I might have been sorted out more completely a lot sooner if I?d followed a slower, more sensible titration. Softly, softly catchee monkey as Ne keeps saying but no one understands why. :H
It can?t be easy being married to someone who is a confirmed drinker and not willing to stop at the same time as you, but as you say, it?s a hell of a motivation seeing how he is when he?s drunk. Maybe when he sees how great you?re doing, you?ll act as an inspiration for him and he?ll follow your lead.
One other thing, being AF is great, of course it?s what we?re all aiming for, but if you feel staying AF at the moment is putting a lot of pressure on yourself, then perhaps don?t consider AF as being the most important thing at the moment. When you reach indifference you?ll become AF naturally anyway. Also, stopping drinking itself brings side effects and combining or confusing those S.E.s with the baclofen could cause you extra stress.
Anyhoo, congrats on your move to freedom:good:. And please keep us updated.:l

Dear Cigarette ... Murphy here,

or something similar.
Reg, the letter to ciggies thing is just way too American and female for my taste, I think I might just give a pack of B&H a ceremonial kicking at midnight on 31 August.
Its a pitty peeps with a oversized knob has never been the subject of a new study to do with addiction?
Big knob ...big addiction ...its a possible hypothesis !!!!
serioulsy all fingers and appendages crossed for you Murph....an interesting read good luck Matey:l

Thanks, maybe I will stay at 90 for a week and see if I get used to it. I have a pact with myself to not drink until next Friday and see if I feel any (in) different, because that would about pay for the baclofen that I've ordered so far. I have another order on the way and will decide if I want to order again by next Friday.
I would like to start Wellbutrin again because I think it would counteract some of the fogginess of baclofen but I don't want to go to the Dr. for a prescription until I can say I have been sober for at least some time.
If I think baclofen is going to work for me, I'm thinking of calling Dr. Levin to try to get a prescription, and maybe he would give me one for Wellbutrin as well.

As usual Murph, your thread provides my morning dose of (sick) humor! :H I'm ready to take on the day.
That pic of Michelle B. and the corn dog was the subject of much humor. I guess it's "101" coaching to politicians to NEVER eat food when there is a camera anywhere in sight. Guess she missed the memo.
Have a wonderful day. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. The countdown to sheer hell and misery has begun. :b&d:
