Sequins are the ultimate mood enhancer. And they are not just for evening any more. I love wearing sequins and blue jeans in the morning. It's fun being a college student again and being able to dress however I want for the day.

Bruun - it's good to see you. How are you? And now for the important question...are you wearing sequins today?

Rudy? Red? Murph? SP? Everybody got their :bling on today?

Hiya Bruun. I'm taking 300mg of gabapentin three times a day. It certainly seems to be working as a mood enhancer. Problem is I'm a little concerned by the reports of how quickly it loses it's potency and people up their dose. I don't fancy chasing the happiness by dropping ever more of them, not least because they're a quid a pop.

Are you still using it Bruun? How ya doing generally?

                        Hi y'all,

No sequins DG, not ever. Jeans and T's here, easier for handling dog drool as you know. Also, spangly stuff gets a little scary here in the town of the naked sunbathers. You really only see it on very very old people (and not on the naked beach), usually on the ladies with the tinted pink cotton candy hair, like Murphy's mum. And then you wish you hadn't. I have recently been speculating that the practical reason for the pink and blue tints you see/used to see was because if you have white hair and you get it done once a week, then you don't wash it in between. At all. Thus, so it doesn't look yellow by Wednesday, you tint it pink. Sounds like a beauty solution that goes with sequins, right? But what color sequins with pink hair, pink? Or would contrast be better, maybe aqua... Edit: I mean scalp hair, Murph, just so you don't get any odd ideas here.

Murph, that gabapentin is saving my ass this week. I've been having extreme freak-outs and it has saved me and in fact, just ordered more. Am finagling a reason to get the Dr. to RX it for me. Any ideas? Mood and pain, I have both, but my doc is very conservative. On the other hand, I will go in five pounds lighter next week or whenever my appt is, and now close to 30lbs lighter than I was over the holidays. So he will be able to see its helped me avoid the alcohol (less desperation in my drinking so its not as hard to avoid buying and gulping large quantities).

good for you on the gaba, bruun.

there's a teacher at my school, probably about 60 yrs old, who has died her platinum hair pink at the ends. she said she wanted to transition with a zing into teaching middle schoolers. the first day, she had it coordinated with her pink top. it may have even had pink sequins.

the students still don't like her. she's patronizing.

Bruun, I guess you can't suddenly fake epilepsy. The problem is, according to something I read (it may have been wiki, so not necessarily 100% kosher) the trials for mood enhancement and depression proved negative, despite the fact that it obviously does work in those areas. So the doc is highly unlikely to give you a script. I tell you what, with the amount of different drugs I order online, I reckon I'm doing wonders for the Indian economy.

Gabapantin is used for pain, my cousin has fibromyalgia and it helps her alot. She has never gotten over the side effect (I forget what it was, but sort of a bad buzz that's not good for working) and she's a nurse. I have pain too, sciatica or something, and actually the bac helps with that but the gabapentin helps me somewhat with ankle/foot pain.

Have you thought about going on and off it to reset your tolerance? I think I'm going to take it PRN and see.

Edit: Murph, wanted to ask about your sag knob, is it still there? Ladies, are you experiencing sag face? Since I'm drinking less I'm thinking more about trying baclofen if my BP goes down with my weight and my less boozin.

Right, knob first (and last and always:H) the sag-knob was temporary and dose dependent. At times I had the opposite problem, where the beast would anger at the slightest provocation. Fortunately I was able to subdue the beast with extreme willpower and the avoidance of dangerous situations such as supermarkets ... hey, what can I say, I'm a bit weird.

Gabapentin is prescribed for pain for only specific fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain, such as following shingles or diabetic neuropathy. I think Cindi is prescribed it for cluster headaches. So, the doc is unlikely to prescribe it for anything else.

I think you're right and I may well have to go off it for a while to combat the tolerance issue. I think I read on one of those drug-abuser websites that you had to leave 30 days between uses to completely reset it, but that sounds ridiculously long. I think PRN may well work and I'd be interested in hearing your experience of that.

ps congrats on the weight loss.
