Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary

Sometimes someone does something so truly wonderful that it really does deserve to be called awesome.

Thank you Mr Kipling. I think I love you.

      That is utter BOLLOCKS!!!!!

Nonsense – “You are talking a load of old bollocks matey.”

Faux-Pas – “Oh man, I dropped a right bollock last night when I tried to snog her mum”.

Marvellous – “That, old son, is the dog’s bollocks.”

Disbelief – “What? Bollocks! You’re having a giraffe ain’t ya?”

To Botch – “Oi you wanker, you’ve gone and bollocksed it now”

Annoyance – “Oh bollocks. That bird that slipped me the tongue turned out to be a geezer.”

      Idiocy – “Ignore that bloke, he’s a right bollock-head”.

Reprimand – “I am going to give that little scrote such a bollocking when I see him”

Nakedness – “When the shepherd came running I had to scarper stark bollock naked.”

Oh yes, it also means testicles.

Very nice thread, Murphy. It has encouraged me to give the Baclofen another go.

        Thank you.

Wow, pony. That was a right proper summation of the laziness with which most people approach language/expression/communication. I find the word 'fuck' fits in, for me, with most of what you describe for the word 'awesome'. It is simply the most versatile word in the English language. And packs way more punch than awesome. But it's also a cop out, right? Then again, how many words can you use in this way:

            "fuuuuuuuuuuuck"
            "That was fucking awesome."
            "Dude, wtf?"
            "That fuckin xxxxxxx"
            "Fuckface"
            "wanna fuck?"
            "Are you fuckin kidding me?"
"It's a beautiful fucking day and I still have all this fucking work to do. It's just not fucking fair."
hmmm. You add to that the number of people that are offended by the word, just the word itself, and you've got way more potency, and like, you don't even have to think to use it. (I had a professor who hated the word. She missed the whole point, of course. I failed that class, I think. No fuckin wonder, though.)
NE, you are an extremely talented writer. Your posts are thought-provoking and inspiring and always well written. That being said, this is my favorite post of yours. :h
            and :goodjob: !!

                    lol. Thanks, Is.
Truth is I rarely use the word in 'real' life. It just wouldn't fly. I reserve it for the ones I'm close to, and the world wide web.
I could try bollocks. Noone here knows what it means, exactly. I like the idea. hmmm. A new plot is born. "That's Bollocks!" could actually mean, "That's awesome!" How much fun would that be? Maybe I'll teach it to a bunch of 2nd graders. (No worries, sensitive souls, I save the expletives for grown ups. Mostly.)
                    mwahahahaha
g'night folks. see you in my predawn. xo

                      Sorry Ne
"That's bollocks" would mean "That's rubbish"
It's the cunning use of 'the' as a preposition that elevates it. Thus:
"That's the bollocks" could mean that "that's awesome"

                        Never mind the bollocks.

                        Here's the Sex Pistols!

Incidentally, "shit" works the same way here. "That's shit." means "That's rubbish." "That's THE shit" means it's awesome.

                        This thread is the shit.

I always heard it called King's English. I looked it up and I guess you call it depending on whose ruling at the time. I guess one can learn more from Murph's thread than weird shit.

I'd get beheaded if either the King or Queen heard that I'd used the 'b' word and their title in the same sentence!
