Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary
Murph, where'd you find the picture of me?
Bleep, You joined a gym? YOU joined a GYM??? They have gyms in Zim? What equipment do they have? Spears?
Please, please don't tell me if it's treadmills, freeweights and the like. I will be completely disheartened and know, once and for all, that where you live is no more exotic than an American suburb.
(:goodjob: and I'm very excited for you! yay!)
(I used to pay a dog-walker US$15 to walk my dogs for 20 minutes. really. Because I was gone for 8 hours and I felt terrible about leaving them alone for so long. really. I made considerably less than the dog walker, ftr. So insane.)

I'm all ears. I was here when you posted your first pics and was very excited to find out how you got fit. You then posted a series of flip-flopping advice that involved health shakes and LISS cardio and a strict regimen and then you said, screw that, screw cardio, you never have to do that unless you really like it, it's all about this leangains stuff, which I read and don't entirely get (16 hour fasting? is that it?) That's my recollection anyhow.
Let me know what you think works (or what would work better). (I'll take my answer off air if that would be easier for our listeners)

I can attest that Lo0p's current protocol works. I have been doing heavy core lifts for a couple of months now, always working on trying to increase my 1RM. I also do a form of HIIT (high intensity interval training) called Peak 8 that Dr. Mercola is always recommending. I usually do sprints twice a week (but have started varying it with one day on the recumbent bike). I mostly do it because I am insane and love sprinting, I get high as hell from it. This protocol got me into pretty good shape, down almost 15 pounds (I didn't really need to lose that much, but it's where my body ended up settling) and down to 15% body fat (between 14 and 20% is considered "Athlete" level for women).
I have to add that I had actually lost a few pounds effortlessly prior to working out due to baclofen. It completely removed my food additction and I started eating only when I was really hungry and then just stopping when I was full. I've been eating more whole, fresh foods than processed for a long time anyway. Now I actually have to force myself to eat more because I know I have to feed my muscles or else my body will catabolize them for fuel and some of my hard work will go to waste.
I have since stepped up the intensity, splitting my weight training to 3 days a week to separate the big core moves by a couple of days. And though Lo0p's never pushed the IF (intermittent fasting) stuff, I felt like challenging myself and giving it a shot. I have seen even greater gains since I started that, just over 3 weeks ago. My weight is about the same, but I have gotten even leaner, which means that I have been able to add some lean mass while dropping even more body fat. I find it to be very easy, and the last couple of hours of the fast are almost like a high; I experience mental clarify and a mild stimulant effect.
I'll be getting my body fat measured next week, so I'll report back and let you know for sure if the IF has helped me excel even more.

Not at all. I'm interested in reading this stuff, just as long as it doesn't escalate and you two start comparing pics of yourselves, in which case I will vomit.
I'd like to point out to any female readers that the above caution doesn't extend to you. Post away, pics welcome, clothes optional.Better Living Through Chemistry

Hi all,
I have been gone and back at work so very, very busy.
Red, NO secret society silly, and you sure know I would not join one without you!
I sent you that link too and will send it again. Murph told us several months ago he can't see!
French, 2 bottles of wine and shots was nothing in my day. I don't know what a "frog" means in those terms but I was a "lush"...literally.
Thanks Rudy B for the comment on the Avatar. I will have to get that link to you; I have pages of cool pictures you can Bring To Life as your new Avatar!
I will check in later all but this weekend I actually held a drink for so long it got warm and I put it down. I saw the sun set and rise every day for the first holiday weekend in a LONG time. It is so great to have a clear head and clear eyes in the morning. Not just one day but several in a row. This is so surreal!

This is all very good news. I was under the impression that Americans only ate bland processed cheese which they melted on top of things. An appreciation for good cheese eh? Perhaps you're not quite as uncouth and unrefined as I previously imagined. Nah, you elected George W Bush TWICE, so my original impression stands.:H

Congratulations, Lady!
I do love my sober sunrises!
I can't wait to hear more!
Americans can also be very polite. They wouldn't serve, or even eat, a meal that might offend someone. For instance, when the rabbi came to dinner the first time I was very careful about the meal... No meat/dairy mixing! Turns out that not only does he not care about that (Reform Jews are not Kosher after all) but his favorite meat is pork. I suspect that is because no one he knows ever feeds it to him. I do!
And, um, Murphy, I did not elect Bush. Either of them. Add insult to injury, he was not actually popularly elected the first time. But we can have a discussion about the electoral college and our supreme court another time.

And after a heavy weight workout tomorrow, I'm going to need a lot of carbs. There's still quite a bit of that buckle left, so I'm thinking that will be my post workout dinner, with lots of ice cream, of course.
That's one good thing about having lean muscle mass - it makes your metabolism a calorie torching furnace and gives you the leeway to go a little bit crazy/indulgent at times.Better Living Through Chemistry

I had a snus-dribble event this morning, like the one Ne had. When I spat it out I thought of Ne. I do hope that association doesn?t stick; every time I spit I think of Ne (not that I spit often, usually just when I?ve accidentally eaten dog shit or deliberately eaten kale crisps), or worse, every time I think of Ne, I spit. Nah, I didn?t spit just then. I was trying a brand of snus for the first time called Nick And Johnny. On the front there?s a picture of a bloke who I assume is meant to look tough and manly but he actually looks like a photofit of a sex offender. Another good reason not to use that brand again.

Someone has sold their soul to Beelzebub for this, it is so fucking good. It only comes in shreds though, and you have to melt in on pizza or nachos or burgers or chips for it to work, but it melts just like real cheese.

Terry, mate, soz! I didn't make the association, but I should have done. It wasn't aimed at you.
I forget some people actually read this. I feel awful now. :upset:
