Good jab received. I had to google her. I nearly asked why they had been posted, but luckily remembered where I was in time.

Loop, Ne: it's not a matter of who I poked fun at, but the manner in which I did it. This is not the sort of forum where that sort of photograph is appropriate. It has also been pointed out to me that my posts can be caustic, indecent and unkind. While caustic is an essential part of my character and I don't believe in blanket kindness to people who don't both deserve and need kindness, I can behave more decently. Those photographs were bordering on pornographic and unnecessary. Please don't make it into a thing; it ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

murph, rowing is my latest idea for exercise. it's a full-body workout, builds muscle AND is aerobic, and there's NO impact, of especial concern for someone who is overweight.
Rudy, I used to row many years ago and I also used to do a lot of kayaking. When I lived near the Thames I would spend many an afternoon racing up and down the Thames, until that is, I began stopping off at a riverside pub half way through. Then one pub became two, two became 3...you know how it goes. Anyway, eventually my jaunts on the river ended up being less about exercise and more about getting a lash on. This can be a tad dangerous when you've spent so long in pubs that you've lost track of time and you've still got 5ks to paddle against a fierce rip-tide when you're off your face on London Pride.

I'm getting my aerobic workouts from an exercise bike and anyway, if I were to try to row these days I fear the boat would most likely sink.

If those photos were bad, I wonder what some people think of some of mine. I haven't received any PM's or slaps on the wrist from mods. Remember the one with my mock "O" face? That was funnnay! :H:H It was definitely borderline pornographic, and I don't have/know how to use photoshop.

Me too. If I believed the food pyramid. But I do not.

When I do not drink I try to follow the Rosedale diet, and feel absolutely terrific.

Here is one of his articles:

Dr. Rosedale: Insulin and Its Metabolic Effects - presented by Dr. Bass

              According to him:
"......... What is the minimum daily requirement for carbohydrates? ZERO.
What is the food pyramid based on? A totally irrelevant nutrient."

I know that lot of you follow Dr. Mercola. Here is his comment on this article and Dr. Rosedale.

              DR. MERCOLA'S COMMENT:
"This is a very long article which is essentially a lecture transcription given by Dr. Rosedale in 1999 at BoulderFest. We were both speakers there in July 2001.
I am very grateful to Dr. Rosedale, as he is the person who convinced me in January of 1995 with a three hour lecture that contained much of the material below, of the great importance of insulin. I have been using this work for six and half years and I am absolutely convinced of its validity. I see similar results that Dr. Rosedale describes nearly every day in my practice."

              Another quote from Rosedale:

"So what are the building blocks that are needed, proteins and fatty acids. Not much in the way of carbohydrates. You can get all the carbohydrates you need from proteins and fats. So the building blocks are covered by proteins and fats."

Besides the fact if you eat veggies, you get enough carbs.
You definitely do not need sugar or starch in your system.
And one more thing you do not need is milk.

Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary

Happy Anniversary, dear! You can have as many as you want for whatever you want, but February 4th was my ticket to freedom.

                  It will always be ours!

For example, I "celebrate" May 31. It's the day I took my first baclofen pill. THAT little experiment ended in disaster three weeks later. I was such a newbie.
BUT 8 months later and I was free. Can you imagine? I know you can, but can everyone else??? 8 months. Free from a lifetime of struggle with my disease.
Holy Cow I have so much to be thankful for and excited about.

I'd hate to gush on, you'll just make me snort my seltzer out of my nose with some sort of caustic remark. Or a jab or two that hits a little close. Or something so random and so fucking funny that I actually guffaw.
Then I remember it ain't no thing but a tofu wing.
I'm going to celebrate with some biology homework. I worked my ass off to get to be able to take bio 101. And finally, I get to do it on my terms and excel.

So Happy Anniversary! Or Congratulations! Or WOOOO FUCKIN HOOOOOOOO!!!

The best is yet to come, Murph. I expect to hear from you every February 4th until we're old and gray/grey.
                  Hugs,
                  Karen

I think that day has already arrived. Not the old bit, but the grey. Not easy to tell, but I'm pretty sure my hair would be grey if I had any. But yeah, here's to our many years of this new, wonderful life, free from the yoke of...blah, blah, blah, you know the rest.

A funny thing happened earlier this evening. It?s been 2 weeks since I last tasted a drop of Satan?s evil piss (not to be confused with Satan?s arse-flakes which are Kale crisps (chips)). All day I?d been feeling the need to have a drink. Not a craving. Not a desire to drink but a physical need. So, never one to deny one of my urges (just ask Mrs Murph ? arf arf!) I popped round to the offy and purchased a couple of cans of Tramp Juice. Tramp Juice is a colloquialism for hideous super-strong lager (9% ABV) and the stuff I was drinking towards the end of my drunkenness. It tastes like drain cleaner, but it?s cheap and gets the job done. It also kills you quite quickly but that?s part of the job it was intended to do.

It took ten panicky minutes to get home with the cans. It?s literally a 2 minute round trip walk, but I was waylaid by a local ?tard who for some reason thinks I?m his friend and as well as having to help him with his numerous court appearances and reading letters from the Child Support Agency regarding the numerous children he seems to have sired, I also have to listen to the same stories over and over again and I was fecking desperate to open the drink and get it down my throat. When I finally got back to the kitchen, cursing the window-licker for delaying me, I quickly ripped the can open and poured a glass of the evil filth. I looked at it but couldn?t lift it. It wasn?t what I wanted.

Confused, I headed back to the offy, after first making sure the eejit had left. I didn?t know what I really wanted; this was a real old-time gagging for a beer type burning desire, but not one booze could actually quench. I looked over the shelves. Snickers? Nope, I didn?t want choc. Bag of nuts? Nah! Ahhhh cake, my old friend. But no, no desire for cake. Then I saw it: crisps (potato chips)!!!!! That was the thing my stupid body was crying out for: bloody crisps.

I got them home, shovelled the contents into my gob and poured the tramp juice down the sink. Ahhhh, I was sated!

It?s all very odd. Along with the booze, I?ve lost all interest in sweet things recently and I couldn?t remember wanting crisps since I started my diet, but obviously, on some level, I really needed them.

Sobriety/baclofen/dieting/exercise (delete as appropriate) does funny things to you.

On most forums there?s a law of thirds: one third post regularly, one third post occasionally and one third just lurk.

I noted the number of views this thread had received as of post 826. on June 1st. I was on the forum when RedThread12 posted 2 days later and the number of views in between was over 200. Either that?s just a few individuals who keep clicking it, despite the fact that the thread is no longer boldened, or it?s 200 unique viewers.

On this forum the law of thirds is wayyyy wrong. About 5% post regularly. 10% post occasionally and 85% lurk.

Why lurk and not post? If you?re a newbie, why not introduce yourself and let us know what?s going on? Are you interested in baclofen as a way out? Do you need help? We might be able to. You don?t have to post here; you can post on the baclofen Newbie?s Nest thread (here?s the link https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...bac-48420.html ). Nice, kind people await you there, unlike here where most people just delight in abusing me. But hey, if you want to introduce yourself with a bit of Murph-hate, that?s fine too.

There?s no time like the present to start getting the demon off your back.

ne, how funny: i thought may 31 (this year) would be my first day of total abstinence. well, it was for 3 days, and that's okay. i'm so glad i'm not forcing myself into the mentality that if i drink it's really baad and i have to start all over. there's a progression here, and i'm thrilled to see it going in such a positive direction.

murhpy, that thing about rowing down the river with stops along the way reminds me of my time snowboarding this winter. toward the end of the season, i found myself making stops in the sushi bar in the lodge and downing some hot sake. made me feel good and relaxed, but i saw it could quickly become a dangerous habit. then the season ended and i think that next winter i won't be taking those breaks in the bar. good thing, cause i'd surely break a bone if i kept it up.

did you only row kayaks, or did you row in a shell too? maybe you answered this, but i can't remember.

okay, if i don't stop this nonsense i'll break my nose on the keyboard. dead tired here. but not dead, and that's a delightful state of affairs.
