Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary

I decided the nasty avatars (especially the wanker one) were too unpleasant for my present state of mind, so I've gone for a nice one instead.
Just to lull the unsuspecting into a false sense of security before I launch into a full-on, expletive filled, sexual innuendo ridden, tirade of pornographic abuse.

hey murphy! today i found out that my son's previous caregiver (like what some people have for their dogs) is from bedfordshire, leighton (pronounced lay-ton ha ha ha) buzzard. so how about that! teeny little world here in america.

Fancy leaving such a nice place to go and live in America. Some people are strange. My grandmother got it right, she left New York to live in Wales.

Ah, so you have Yankee blood running through your veins? I'm not sure how that's relevant though, it just seemed a very pointed observation at the time.

There's no such thing as American blood. They're all a bunch of mongrels. But then again, so are the English, even though they won't admit it.

The Welsh are the descendants of the old British, the first to colonise these islands and the only ones who have a claim to them. So you Saxon pigs...GET ORF MY LAND!!!!

Congrats, Frenchie! It's an amazing thing, isn't it? Very happy for you.

Murphy, I have to point out that your grandma maybe couldn't handle the promised land and hightailed it bac to potato-famine-land. Oh. Wait.

Anyway, I'm very sorry that she didn't stick around. It only got better. Sort of. Maybe. Come to think of it, maybe she had a point! :H But how're the politics in Wales? I haven't had the chance to google... I'd imagine it's a fair bit easier when the constituents are sheep... and

And how and where are you re. bac? I'm nearing the 30 day mark for the official record. You were well ahead of me. No celebrating the occasion? No notice for the first time (I'm guessing) in your adult life that you have been without alcohol for a whole month? not me, brother. I'm going to be fairly impressed. Not with myself so much, as the real-life results of High Dose Bac treatment. You know?

Woohoooo my froggy friend! Sorry I wasn't here to celebrate it with you.

"Champagne!" Lol, yeah why not? I mean call for it, yes. Every celebration of note calls for Champagne. Just don't feel sad when you see it going flat. Perhaps French Champagne would be a waste; Chinese sparkling wine might seem less of a sin.

When you visit us with your updates, I always smile. I'm so glad for you man.

Wait. She didn't come back to UK, she wasn't from here, she was a New Yorker born and bred. When she got here she married a man who's father had left Ireland during one of the famines (or British enforced genocides is another way of putting it). When all his fiends and family were heading to Ellis Island, my Great Grandfather, headed the other way and a short hop over to Wales...the lazy bastard.:H

Mmmmm, not so sure about that. In the 80s, some of my family went to New York to visit her sister who had stayed behind. They found a timid old lady, terrified to leave her house and venture into an area that had once been home, but was now completely alien.

Mind you, my grandmother finished her days in Town Hill, Swansea, which could easily match old style New York for crime and violence. :H

BTW people, I was kidding about the Americans and English being mongrels. Well they are, but I doubt anyone could match me for mongrelism. Within the last 3 generations there have been, apart from the American and Irish: English, Welsh, Scottish, Polish and Gypsies (from God knows where); Catholics, C of E, Chapel, Kirk and Jews.

We're all mongrels, it's just a matter of how far back you care to look.

Amen and hallelujah to that. My present day extended family has Reform Jews, Orthodox Jews, lapsed and devout Catholics, agnostics and atheists, and a family of, um, devout evangelical-born-again Christians. (I don't think they make that type very much in other countries. Not sure, though?)

That's a pretty cool history, Murph. Mine also includes family (a lot of 'em) from the backwoods in a state I won't mention for fear of offending. Suffice it to say, it might ring true to what you put on RudyB's thread. 'splains everything. :H

Suddenly have to go bac to bed. pffft. See what 3:30 will get you?

That's quite a tree you've got there. We had our roots traced back, and in the 1600's, we were a family of publicans. Our family crest is two lions holding up a castle. When I tell you that two of the most popular beers sold in Zim are Lions and Castles, it makes a bit more sense. I have alcoholism bred into me from the 1600's!

me, i've got english, english, english, irish (though the english tried to hide it), scottish, french, and spanish moor. (that last one explains a lot, huh? including my luscious, full lips and my birthmarks -the only place i've got ANY melanin, alas.)

                                You have a family crest?

Who the fuck has a family crest?
