Murph’s Baclofen (or should that be BacloFUN) diary

    hmmm.
Your friend sounds like a b*. I hope you gave her a piece of your mind. Especially if that is what she did, in fact, say.
Then you forgot your wallet and lost your glasses.
But you were all smiley and pleasant about it?

Remember what a bad day used to be like?

(The waistband to navel thing is important, of course, but the waistband to armpit ratio is vital.) (Will you do my writing assignments for me? Dialogue is a pain.)

On the other hand, I don't want to start back at square one and take months to titrate back up. Bleep, your advice to go back up to 210 mg right away scared me to death, though it might be the right advice. If I did that I would have to have several days off from work to do the cognitive readjustment, Murph, I will probably take your suggestion and increase at relatively fast increments. Has this happened to any of you before?
I didn't have to go way down, and then back up again, Curly. I did play around enough to know that going up and down dramatically was/is not my friend. I think that's the reason that bleep and murphy and I disagree so profoundly about dosing and scheduling. They can take a good deal more of it, and have, with few unpleasant SEs. That has not been my experience at all.

I can't remember how long you've been taking bac? I'm not sure that it matters, exactly, but I know that it's much easier, in terms of SEs, for me to go up and down (by say 20mg) now then it was before.

Weigh the options and the consequences. Take a bunch of it, expect it to be okay, prepare for it not to be, and move on from there. Know that SEs will, for the most part, dissipate.

Or split the difference. Go up by 20mg every 3 days.

      Or just take your time.

If I had, "listened to my body," I would have quit taking it many times. If I had continued futzing around with my dose, I would have quit, for sure. Dr. L suggested I quit, or go way down, based on my SEs.

Advice and suggestions here are based on each individuals path and progress. Mine was long and arduous. I wish I'd followed the protocol from day one. I think it would've made the process much less painful and happen more quickly.

Hmmm. Again. Your post, Murph, is still rattling in my head, so I won't respond just yet.

Curly, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. What I should have said, is perhaps try it out. You'll know pretty quickly whether or not it's going to work, and can decide from there. Take one of your previous doses and see how you feel. Or half of one. If it's too much, you know you have try a more cautious route. Know that if you take too much, it's just a couple of unpleasant hours, then it will be fine again.

Sorry, I really should have said it with a little more caution before. I tend to look at things from my perspective, and I am able to take baclofen pretty much willy-nilly.

Yay, Murph loved your story, and your avator. I went down to my local park this morning with my gorgeous dog..........Realised that someone was sleeping under the eaves of the footy club building. She was an elderly lady (and believe me I don't live in a down and out suburb of Perth).

I honestly didn't know how to approach her, or what to do, but she had a dog with her who came to play with my little Abby. I invited her back to my home to have breakfast but she shuffled on and muttered "thankyou". I didn't even know there were people who lived in this affluent suburb who slept outside. And believe me, it has been very cold here.

I have been seriously thinking about this lady all day...and will go down again to offer her some sort of help..........if she will accept it. I don't think she is a drunk, and even if she was, I was hoping my offer of shelter and food may be accepted.

It's really funny but I came straight back on to this forum when I got home to talk to Ne, and of course, see what everyone else has been up to. I realize so much that I am full of anger and abuse, but am also a really kind and decent human being.

Missy. If you want to be friends why do you keep posting on threads where you are bound to be antagonistic, or perceived that way?
I'm glad and flattered that you thought of me (I think? Unless it was to tell me how worthless I am! :H.) Either way I liked your story and glad you shared it. I responded on a different thread so as not to hijack this one. This one is busy atm.

What on earth is a footy club? You old-type-english-speakers sure do have some interesting names. Too bad they don't export very well. again.

Hi Missy. Love seeing that you've posted something, usually gives me something to giggle about. Slightly disappointed with this last effort but ftr it was a nice post and I've never doubted it.

Murph, sorry to hear you've had a bad one but if anything it sharpens your humor. Nice sketch with the checkout girl. You look to be doing pretty well from here so chin up ol' boy.

Ne, even in 'Woderland' English I would think footy and football could be linked.

And for women, the waistband to the nipple is also rather important. And with age the distance is reduced. Thanks for that tidbit DoggyGirl. :H

I'm pretty sure that is what she said and she's absolutely right.

I'm not sure what a "b*" is. If it had 4 asterisks, I would assume you meant bitch, but she's certainly not that. Anything but. Seriously.

There was one other thing my friend said, and I think I have this right but I'm not 100% certain. She said I should post some questions about food on my thread and ask women for their opinions. So ladies, do you prefer to eat real dairy cream or that stuff from a can? I shan't elaborate on the question any further, as I'm sure you can guess the reason for the question.

                      Neva,

Remember how Murph thinks. His question centers around the word EAT.
The can stays fresher and not as messy
And Iggy, I have already told Murphy that the spelling of humour as humor is perfectly valid.
And I am not sure which thread I saw the post from Rudy on but the analogy was brilliant!

Packing 23 years of memories sucks. I found an old suitcase in the attic filled with love letters from my ex and drawings from when my kids were kids. It must have been up there for years. I closed it right away and stuck it in the garage for a time when my mental state of mind can handle it.:upset:

The stress now is very close to a drunk and I am not going to test it.

I still read just don't have time to write.
