Hey Ig, thanks for that...Road, a long time ago I sent a pm to Murph when I thought he was basically abusive to someone (won't say her name) in his post. I was absolutely gobsmacked at his absolute abusive reply. I had just joined this forum.....and was vulnerable. He called me an idiot, and told me to fuck off, and also told me I didn't know what i was talking about! End of story. I was new here. I have never forgotten that. I was absoultely amazed at his reply. I seriously have watched him from then. I don't know if he sends messages to other people. But I have had a huge worry about him. I can send you the message he sent to me if you want..........it still hurts. You have no idea how much that message crushed me and surprised me. It was abusive and not called for. And that is why I don't like him Road.

I would not have persevered without the humour (sp?:-). I would get a bottle and get in front of the computer and by the time I read and laughed and cried I realized the drink was no longer necessary. I never told ya'll how many nights I did that in the beginning. Eventually I started reading sober and decided sober laughter really felt good.

I was at the park earlier; I stopped to let the dogs have a sniff around and, no doubt, eat disgusting things and sniff other dogs' bums. I noticed a young coot on the pond that was pulling at a half submerged twig. Each time it pulled the twig, it got smacked in the other side of the head by a stick. He did it three times, got fed up and moved on.

But another coot took his place and did the exact same thing. It pulled the twig and got smacked in the other side of the head by the pivoted stick. It was quite a big stick and it must have hurt the coot but it didn't stop her from carrying on doing it. She yanked the twig, got smacked in the head by the stick, was slightly surprised and dazed but just carried on and did it again. She did this God knows how many times:
Yank...smack...pain
Yank...smack...pain
Yank...smack...pain
again and again and again.

Why did she do it? It obviously hurt her. She must have known it was futile; she was never going to get the twig. The other coots were also watching her, but she didn't care how foolish she looked or how pointless her behaviour or how much pain she caused herself. She just carried on and on and on.

Eventually the dogs got bored and I had to leave. She was still at it as I left. I was initially concerned for her, but then I realised at the end of the day, when all is said and done, who gives a shit, coots are dumb. Fuck 'em!
