    Bruun's Titting UP

Bruun, what a fabulous wonderful post up thread!!!!!!! :l I am so so so happy for you!

LOL - I came here because I'm about to write a short paper about the recent LSD and alcoholism meta-analysis. (hey - he said ANY addiction treatment related topic!) That report made me think of Ibogaine and than a little bit of googling later, I am also wondering what people have heard about GDNF which supposedly achieves the benefits of Ibogaine while avoiding some of the potential problems with, if I understood even a little bit of that correctly. I was going to ask about that on the LSD thread, but then saw the mess there at the end of that thread.

So anyway.... Bruun, I know you have mentioned Ibogaine before and I'm wondering if you think the action is similar to LSD? And if you have heard about the GDNF stuff and what you think of that? (or anyone else..) Just looking for a safe place to ask some questions LOL!

Hi DG! Great to see you here! This thread needs a new theme, for sure. I think you should also post your question on the LSD thread or wake up the Ibogaine thread (I think there's at least one) because people don't check this thread, who are interested in that, they don't like the coffee clache or campfire or whatever this was. The trolls will go away ... they always do.

I haven't heard of GDNF but I like it, because the acronym is "good enough" when I look at it! Good enough to get it done!

I confess I reread your "My Story" thread the other night, and it was good therapy. Something you said resounded with me, and is my new meditation. You have to DECIDE to stop forever. None of this noodling that its not a benefit to quit forever. The Jason Vale book said that too, but I wasn't ready to do it. I am ready for antabuse and have been taking it, which is a crutch to get to the place where its not an issue any longer, I hope.

And your before/after ... sigh. I wish I wasn't losing my hair, I'd have hope to be attractive again but for that. Sorry, its still all about me, isn't it? Saving up for a hair transplant is a goal, and I can focus on that, right? One thing I've determined for sure this year, you have to be moving towards something or you'll rot and be rotten. I'm tired of being rotten.

On a happy note, I've been sober more this past twelve months than in my entire last 25 years together!

So, see you on the other thread. Maybe you should start a new one with the new GDNF /ibogaine / LSD all in the title? Definitely!! If you don't, I will! When is your paper due? I think its a stellar idea.

hey bruun! hey doggie and everybody! good to see y'all.

i'm getting ready to drive down to the city, then the airport, but i had to chime in to say, bruun, yes, dear, it can be all about you! you get to do that on your own thread! i know how self-conscious it can make one feel to spill it all out, but it's good for us to have a place to do that, and what better place is there to do that than on your own thread?

i know there's so much more to respond to, but that struck a chord in me, that thing about being self-obsessed. a healing journey requires that, i think, and it's so much more helpful to do so with the input of the wise people here than to try to do it on our own.

ok, i'm off to fix a zipper on a broken suitcase, or to dig up a forgotten one from the garage attic...

                BRUUN!!!
Come back. We won't make fun of your kindle typing.
                Maybe just a little.
                Miss you.

All choices made or choice resigned,
And in your face the literal eye
                Trace little of your history,
Nor ever piece the tale entire
Of villages that had to burn
And playgrounds of the will destroyed
Before you could be safe from time
And gather in your brow and air
                The stillness of antiquity."
