I won't weigh in on your binge last night, considering I went on a bender this weekend. I will say, at least you have future plan. I wouldn't even have a drinking problem if beer were my only option. I'm a wino to the core. Take care today, and give yourself all the advice you gave me after my bender. :l

Bruun's Titting UP
Hi Bruun. I haven't been around hardly at all this week - just busy. I've thought about you though and just wanted to stop by your thread and say hello.
I wish I could say "here is your solution!!" but of course none of us can do that. We can only talk about what has worked for us individually. It sure can't hurt I don't think to up the L-Glut like that. Determinator SWEARS by L-Glut by the grams in powder form - like what it sounds you are doing on top of the other things in your plan.
For myself, I finally figured out after much trial and error (emphasis ERROR LOL!) that having one or two drinks (beer hater here too) was just impossible for me. As difficult as it was to NOT drink, drinking ONE was torturously impossible. But that's just me and this info is FWIW, which may be zero.
Is the lower bac dose helping at all? Are you still taking it?
Hope you are OK and maybe just posting elsewhere...

Diet Day 2
For the first time in 24 years, I'm on an AF diet. By that I mean not the "drinking woman's diet" that I would use like Weight Watchers to drop some stones. No AL. At all! This is a milestone. Especially if you read a month back on this post, and see I was binging and sick as a dog and desperate.
I'm also sugar free, low carb, feeling empty, sometimes hungry.
Finding myself suddenly looking over at the kitchen wondering what's in the fridge, then realizing there's nothing at all there I can have. And that I will not cheat, because mostly I've been able to moderate my AL, is giving me the confidence that I can do this AND it will help me go AF after the diet as well. I continue 25mg bac, Lithium Orotate when I remember, fish oil, L-glut, and some other supplements.
I have added Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with MSM and MCT (derived from coconut oil but NOT coconut oil). A new awful choke-down drink but helps with appetite control and supposedly to help you "release" fat cells.
I am keeping my resolve by my determination to be happy with my body and healthy. I want to reduce my cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, and toxins levels, whatever they may be.
Thanks DG, I appreciate you. I'm getting things in hand and will appreciate your support in the next three or four weeks which I think will be challenging, to say the least. Hope you are well!

Woohoo, Bruun! I felt really good on a low, low carb diet. Hard to stick to sometimes though. One thing it did was help me lose my sweet tooth. I went to splurge on a slice of cherry pie a la mode and spent the next hour feeling like I wanted puke. Soft drinks suddenly started tasting waaaaay too sweet, stuff like that.
Good luck with the choke downs. I've come to realize that I need some kind of meal replacement and am willing to choke on it, but I'll write more about that in my own thread.
Good to hear that you're jammin'!* * *

I love your plan!!! I still struggle with the sugar demon and I need to just ACCEPT that sugar needs to be permanently out of my picture. But in the spirit of "one day at a time" (which I'm learning to value!) I would love to have your support as well!!! I simply cannot have the body size I prefer if I allow AL, sugar, and a few other things into my world.
I'm with ya!

EXACTLY, DG. I am told by my doctor that I'm "carb sensitive" and that's why I'm not in ketosis. GRRRRRRR. I REFUSE to be the one person in 1000 that a protocol YET AGAIN does not work for. They are telling me to eliminate all fruit for a few days, and all I had was one apple in two days. Well fine, but it better work because that apple saved me last night and it was SMALL.
Thanks, Tracy! I'll be interested to read your posts on the meal replacement. I've got a reputation for creating choke-down weird drinks, I get it from my father who has oatmeal every morning, laden with cinnamon, tumeric, cayenne, and some other stuff he read helps with this and that.

Good luck Bruun.
I hate to say it, but for the first time in my life I am considering some form of a diet. Baclofen is turning me into a fat bastard, and it feels terrible. I could always exercise, I suppose, but I'm too lazy, so not eating will be my method of attack. That's all the science behind my approach for now, if it fails, I'll look to the more experienced dieters here for guidance.

Good luck bleep - I envy your lifetime of no dieting or working out. Just a few years of that got me into Fatbastardhood. Or should I say Fatbitch? Ug.
It's a slog, for sure. Just had my 4oz of chicken and lettuce. Never thought I'd say I can't wait to eat my allowed apple!

Bruun, I don't know HOW I've gotten so behind on your thread! Granted, I have been having a hard time keeping up with the forums lately, but I thought I was doing a decent job of keeping up! I'm not. :upset: I was like a week behind on your thread and had to read quite a few pages to catch up. I'm so glad that you are still posting and updating, even though you're doing the full 100% bac ride or whatever. This is your journal, and you're allowed to post whatever you like! I'm glad you decided to keep it in the meds forum so every part of your journey is all in one spot.
It sounds like you've decided to do a pretty hardcore diet, no easy feat! I can guarantee that doing it AF will make it SO much more effective.

I actually prefer them when they're a little more substantial. Here's a good recipe for some "heavier" kale chips. They're delicious.

Hey Is, thanks for catching up, I'm only up to date on the threads that appear daily on page one usually, don't feel bad. Are you still AF? Missed you!
I saw that kale chip thing, and I'm still finding it difficult to fathom. And the picture, I remember seeing that mess of the more substantial chips, gave me the queasy feeling. :H Hey, the laughing guy icon moved into row two on messages. Or was he always there? Clearly, my brain is working well, as always.
Thanks for chipping in :H on the chips, but I think it will take longer periods of hunger for me to go there.

I don't think I would have given the kale chips a shot if it weren't for the raw vegan diet stint. Between washing and drying the kale, tearing it all into bite sized pieces, and then massaging it with the marinade and getting it all onto dehydrator sheets.... I'm amazed I made it more than once!! It was easier for me to stick with simpler recipes - marinated and stuffed portabello mushrooms, half a bell pepper stuffed with guacamole and topped with tomatoes and olives, big salad, bunch of fruit, etc. A lot of more involved raw food recipes take more time and prep than complicated cooked dishes. And don't get me started on cleaning all the dishes and gadgets! I think that was the worst part! :H
But I did develop a new found love of all kinds of fruits and veggies and unproccesed whole food.Better Living Through Chemistry

I relate to the developing an appreciation for unprocessed food. I am down to bare basics, although not raw. I'm finding that apples do have a flavor, although I couldn't appreciate it for many years. Cooked apples are great, with nothing added. The kale chip thing sounds like a workout. In the US, alot of our food is processed even if it's raw - by processed I mean having had pesticides applied repeatedly throughout the germination and growth of a fruit or veg, all foods chemically treated to create long shelf life, etc. I heard a story from a person who came to San Francisco and bought a loaf of the famous sourdough, went home and forgot it was in her suitcase for two weeks, then found it without mold or any problems - which it SHOULD have had.
The chemicals and the processed food have alot to do with the fat in the US, in my opinion. There's so much toxic build up Consider the local deli counter, or the local subway restaurant (sandwich chain) - all the meats have nitrates and sugar and more stuff that make it fattening. Sugar = fat. Starch = sugar = fat. Starch is in everything - canned soups, to thicken them up, even some cheeses are adulterated by the stuff. And of course, we haven't even broached the GMO aspects of frankenfood on our bodies.
I don't eat the crap the average American seems to but I'm fat. I guess it's the AL and lack of exercise... (Sugar!)
