    Bruun's Titting UP

    Hey Bruun,

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you. So did you get fire the petsitter? Probably not. It's hard to get rid of someone who is reliable especially when it comes to your pets. Have you ever considered taking them to a kennel? There is a animal hospital near me where they have a camera in the room with the dog and you can watch them on the internet. It sounds a littlle extreme, but probably very appreciated by many. Are you just leaving during the day? They have those doggie daycares, but I guess they probably aren't what you are looking for.

So, have you started the HCG diet? I have gained 10lbs of weight since I started taking Bac. 10lbs that I really did not need to add. If I gain any more weight, I will have to buy the dreaded fat clothes and I am not prepared to do that. A plan is needed and fast.

I actually ordered some Nal. I placed an online order for something to sleep and figured if I was going to pay for shipping, I might as well try out Nal. I had wondererd about combining the Nal with the bac, so that I could take less bac-probably not going to do that. I only ordered 10 pills though.

So did you your order of Nal arrive? Hope you are doing well!

DG, I hope that your father is doing well. I really miss reading your posts here in meds.

Nal, Petsitter, AL & HCG update

      Hey Evey,

No worries, I'm not online much at all due to pc problems anyways. My Nal didn't arrive yet although I was notified it was processed.

The HCG only works if you stick to the severe diet and that means no AL. Or maybe one glass of wine after the first ten days - they say no AL for the first ten to fourteen days is important. Even no carb AL will screw it up.

I am still down 8lbs from those three or so weeks of HCG but I'm also eating pretty carefully with a cheat here and there, but really eating very little. Yesterday I went to In-N-Out Burger for brunch, and had a "protein-style" cheeseburger without mayo/spread. That means no bun so it's just a beef patty with a slice of tomato and onion, wrapped in lettuce. And unsweetened ice tea. Then for dinner I had a chicken tostada without the tortilla- which means a tablespoon of refried beans, 100 gm of shredded chicken, lettuce and and gobs of pico de gallo. If I hadn't had the wine, that would have been a normal day food wise.

Right now I'm having an impossible time moderating or abstaining. I had alot of wine last night and the night before, very disappointed in myself. Not weighing myself today, or I'll be up 2lbs for sure. Takes alot of effort to lose but just a couple of days of AL to gain it back! Arg.

Bleep, I know you can leave a cat alone, done that many times. But the dog? In the house? If I leave him outside, he'll bark all day and night plus I have no doghouse. If I put him inside, where will he pee and poo? Can't leave the dog alone, period. I'm usually gone for minimum of 35 hours.

Evey, I have thought about other options. I travel for work so it's overnight and two entire days, usually, or more. There is a kennel by my house that's all cement, not a great place, but I've used it once. It's clean, and the dogs are separated from each other by chain link. Other places have better kennels but to let your dog out and play is expensive, on top of the overnight cost. Plus, it's cheaper or similar cost to petsitter. This past week my neighbors came over and threw the ball for the dog for a while, so he had some play time at least. The petsitter came and fed him, left right away, came back at 8:45 and was asleep (house was dark) 30 minutes later, so no walk or play for poor pup. And when I got home, he immediately pooped/peed so he's not getting the access to outside he needs and which I pay for. Called another petsitter and they charge even more ... $75/night for just this, just sleeping and feeding. Gees.
The vets around here cage the dog, which is worse than a kennel. Still looking for other options...

Good to have you back Bruun.

I'm fighting the pet issue on many fronts, and clearly I am approaching the issue from a different angle of understanding, so I'll leave it be! I hope you resolve it somehow though.

Dinner sounds nice, although more like a starter. Let me not go there, I'm sure it's a sore point. When is your naltrexone supposed to arrive? I was under the impression that your postal service there was a feisty scene?

          Update for Bruun

          Hello all,

Apologies for the technical difficulties which have absented me almost 100% from MWO. I can read but not post with the new hard drive on my pc. I can post on Facebook and write emails etc on Yahoo or Cox, and the only place I can't do the usual blabbing is here. First I thought someone had complained and my voice was administerally silenced. Then I checked from work, where I am now, and which is not strategic for my job, and found I could post. Anyone have a clue what setting my personal pc has on it that keeps me from posting? The PM function claims I haven't written anything, so I copy and post the same message and submit and it shows up unsent with the same error message, ie, empty text message field. Oh well. I'm sure someone will figure this out and help me.

Anyways, I have some updates: I'm deep in the hard AL, going again try to white knuckle it and get free, but I've not been successful at all in the past months. Trying to have a positive attitude a la cognitive therapy.

Haven't lost any more weight but have found a semi-cure for my acid reflux. Raw, active Manuka honey! It has healed my gut in a week.

My bday in a month, I am going to try for AF very hard this week. I'd love to be ten pounds thinner in August.

Hope everyone is well. I have not caught up on everyone's threads but I will.

          Cheers,

          B

            Hiya, Bruun!

Missed you and been thinking about you.
Hope you get the pc issues taken care of. And can have an AL free week. Glad to know about the honey.

Had a dream the other night that my grandmother ordered Omegas online, (?!?) and ordered 3-6-9, which is what I did before you straightened me out... Thought of you!

More info on Ibogaine, ftr, on Holistic, don't know if you saw it. Also, can you receive pm's?

Good to hear from you Bruun!

Have you fired your pet-sitter yet?

Your computer story sounds very strange. Maybe something to do with cookies? Change whatever the setting is on now to the other setting? There are a couple of computer savvy new guys, hopefully one of them will be along soon.

Good luck with you AL free week!

Thank you all, what a great welcome! :l Thank you!

Ne, thanks, I can receive but when I respond, they're empty if I even can respond. I used to be able to PM and it would be empty but now I can't even send a PM. I can receive though. Odd. Kudos to you on remembering the details of the omegas! That reminds me, I'm off my omegas, I need to restart that habit. Since I started storing them in the deep freeze, I forget to take them daily.

Taw, thanks, I'm on nothing - I have NAL, I took it three times and the first time I had a lovely drunken feeling, the second time I didn't feel a thing, the third time I puked for 8 hours (thought of you!). Not sure what caused that but I'm nervous about NAL now. I do have the gene test ready to go.... I just need to stay AF long enough to generate a tube of saliva. Gross. If you've ever done a spit test, you'll know what I mean, how it separates and makes you want to retch so I can't even look, I just spit and think of puppies and kittens and how cute they are instead. Or hunky men.

I was chatting offline with Anne1232 about ibogaine today. Something to definitely consider. And maybe it would fix all my other problems too. Sadly, it has the same issues any recovery has which is you have to have a plan to keep AF, or you'll start over on the same path you started on so many years ago. However, it does have some sort of permanent rewiring effect, and Anne told me in Thailand they consider it a CURE for bipolar and other disorders.

Rudy, I see ya man, you're on the run out there in the world! I see your cape flying behind you...

bleep, I have a new petsitter, and my puppers likes her lots. New puppers story, he jumped over the six foot fence to try to follow me to Amtrak the other day. Eeesh! My neighbors found him running the streets! I think he might need ibogaine for his separation anxiety! I mean, you gotta figure, poor dog can't even self medicate with chocolate, what a dog's life!

                      Hi Bruun,

I'm glad to see you are back posting. Wanted to extend my warmest welcome back to you. I'm as computer illiterate as they come, so no advice from me there. Manuka honey? Is this different than clover honey? I imagine it is. I would love to hear more about it.

Manuka Honey, baclofen and other stuff

Hi Red! Great to see your froggy avi! :l

I'm still unable to post much due to it not working on my home pc, but I am reading!

Manuka honey - I tried twice to paste wikipedia's description of it here and lost my entire message text so I'm going to have to rely on you to google it. In short, it helped heal a burn and my acid reflux. It has the healing and antibiotic/antifungal powers of honey plus all the same from tea tree. Manuka=tea tree. And it's not cloyingly sweet like clover honey can be. I love it and I'm not a huge fan of most commercially sold honey. I just ordered two more bottles and it's frighteningly expensive but I no longer feel fire in my belly so it's worth it. It works much better than prevacid or anything. Maybe Taw should try it for her vomiting. You never know!

And by the way, I'm taking 25mg of bac a day for the excellent sleep and anti-anxiety support it currently provides me. Thus I'm officially a bacster so no one can kick me off.:H
