    Bruun's Titting UP

Ah yes, so true, its occured to me as well. Only problem is I keep experimenting that same old experiment with the brew that brings only misery after the first, and you can't stop after just one.

I definitely need Rudy's neighbors but I'd need to steal someone's kid to fit in and I'm afraid I'd kill the kid because well, you know how kids are. I remember people always saying "its different when they're your own kids" but I never had the patience for them, wish I did.

Did I say welcome back enough times bleepster? What you been up to?

DG! i do that with cukes, too! yum.

bruun, funny you should mention movies. last nite netflix was down and was only offering a select few choices. i picked a very good one: 'white girls' with the wayans brothers. maaan, those boys are kkkyyyewwwt! and so fuckin funny! the opening scene is such a gas! and even has some nice hispanic and italian stereotypes. i only got about 20 minutes in before i had to sleep, but i have a feeling the rest of it continues to offer many gut-explosions. (of the good kind.)

bruun, i thought you knew me better! i do not post pictures well at all! it took about three advisors and a dozen attempts to get the ones up that i posted in july. i'd never be able to do that again without a few hands to hold (and do it for me)! your false notion is good for a chuckle, though.

bruun, what do you do with your free time? what can
you do to be less lonely? that is a terribly difficult place from which to disentangle yourself from a bad habit! (but at least you've gut us here.)

          Bruun's Titting UP

          Hey Ruuuu,

I'm beginning to see you as Roo, the favorite stuffed animal of the little boy in the book "How does she Do it" or whatever its called, now a movie with SFParker. I think I'm beginning to develop a need for Ru to calm and help me sleep too! Like Roo! Hope you like pouched critters.

That IS the issue, I have relocated every five years or more and find new friends everywhere, but in the end, no one seems to stay. Partly because I cut them lose (crazy cousin and crazy friend of crazy cousin), partly because I can't relate (they don't work, they don't understand what its like to be highly stressed workwise and financially with no support). And partly because of the bottle.

I am now focusing back on my healthy foods, as you can see, and finding a way to cut back to nothing so I can get AF days again, so I can feel some relief physically and mentally. Feeling really sad and bad today at Costco, all the people with their partners and kids, felt I should start a thread about "Staying Positive" but just don't feel positive enough to do it. Here's the scene. I'm in line, thinking, I'm fat, I have hangover face, I'm balding, and no one looks at me. Its like I'm invisible. Then a guy smiles at me and I smile and look away. WTF. THEN the guy in front of me starts chatting up the checker guy, and they're both talking about "you have to be positive or it all goes downhill fast" and something about the movie Neverending Story?

So, seen that movie Roo? I'm searching redbox for locally available movies then returning mine and renting new, then going to the plant place. What goes well with lots of purple fountain grass? A smaller nice green in front and a bigger green in back, right?

All this talk of fermented foods is making me feel slightly ill. That's what got me into this mess in the first place, fermented fruit!
            Indeed! :H

Bruun, the grasses sound really great and indeed we will want pictures of those, and anything else you care to share. The way I do it is to first upload my pictures to a free account on Photobucket.com, and then you can copy and past the "IMG" thingy that will be displayed with each picture (along with some other things like direct links, etc.) Sounds harder than it is!!!

rudyb - i thought i heard screaming last night. it must have been all the netflix subscribers complaining in unison! good think i wasn't home or i would have been one of 'em.

This weekend I'm studying for my Dual Disorders midterm which I hope to take tomorrow. We have a two week window to go to the testing center and take it. Tomorrow is the first day, and I'm hoping to just get it over with as I have a final on Thursday, then another mid term the following Tuesday, and a term paper that needs to get done. I decided to check in here during a much needed break from the study of Schizophrenia - what a devastating disorder.

Well, I don't know about pasting the pictures just now, maybe in a year when they've filled in. My yard is embarrassing now. Once it's all chopped back (the mallow, the palms, etc) it will look better. And the bloody vinca pulled out. Arggg.

Thanks for the tip. I tried doing that using the image on my pc but I gather it has to be online for it to work. And that would explain why some posts with pictures don't show up, because the linked source no longer carries the image in those cases. Is that right?

Okay, off to go try my luck wtih renting Marry Me, Hesher, THe 5th Quarter, none of which excites me. I esp hate the desperate marriage stuff but I love romantic comedies. Hmmmm. The problem with Redbox is limited selection, if you're wondering why on earth I'd rent these. They had 3 star ratings or higher, is why, and they're down the street.

And KNOCK'EM DEAD with the DD test DG, I have full confidence you'll get one of the highest scores.

DG, by the way, glad you love school so much - sounds awful to me, all those tests! Go for it! I had an idea for a small business you could run, called Visiting Home Therapy where you help us addicts through our crises and or witching hours, teaching us handson about toolboxes and practicing doing other things, while talking through the meltdowns and getting through it.

pouched critters? do tell! and i thought roo was a reference to the winnie the pooh character. that'd fit!

so glad i can lull you to sleep, or at least calm you down, bruun. i remind myself in that image of what murphy was for lushie in the morning: a great way to wake up! (spilled coffee notwithstanding.)

haven't seen neverending story, but feel like i'm in one, a good one. love yours about the check out guy! how excellent are those messages that come to us not by accident?!

i think your garden design sounds perfect. as you were asking what you needed for that grass that you have, i was drumming up the same scheme in my mind's eye.

Brutus, if you like romcoms, check out The Proposal. Sandra Bullock is Canadian and is about to be deported, so she tries to marry an American for citizenship. The same sort of thing happens in Seattle by Chinese woman friends

Funny you should mention that. One of my teachers mentioned just last week that he had a private practice before he took the job heading up the Addiction Studies department at the school. I'm planning to ask him more about what he did, profile of his clients, etc. For licensing, I will have to get clinical experience working for The Man for at least a few years. I'm looking forward to that too (at least i think I am - LOL I haven't had a boss in a long time now!). So many different types of programs out there. I'm actually pretty facinated right now with the Drug Court and Mental Health Court system. Makes a lot of sense to me to (where appropriate) offer treatment rather than jail. I didn't know a thing about these programs until I ended up with an AA sponsee in each. It's also VERY motivating (OK - so negative motivation, but whatever) when the choice is to put effort into the treatment program or if not, go back to jail. Anyway...lots of stuff out there that I find interesting.

Pete - that movie sounds good. I'm sure I saw commercials for it or something along the way. I like Sandra as a romcom actress. Might have to netflix that one of these days!

Hey - for $20 - $30K I'll marry somebody who needs citizenship. Never mind that pesky little detail that I'm already married. I know a guy from Mexico who married somebody for that reason, but it didn't work. Not sure how the immigration people figure all that out, because the marriage itself was legal. Who knows where all the immigration bruhaha will lead us. It's complicated - especially with the issue of children born here being US citizens, that's for sure.

Well - back to the books.

you remind me, dg, that in the end it was simple. part of the problem for me was that i was uploading to shutterfly, which is bugeroo for that kinda thing. go straight to snapfish, and it's really easy.

vinca and mallow, you no likie? mallow makes me think of my nana, and i wish i could get more of it. (i will when i'm at her house at thanksgiving, when the seeds will be just about ready.) maybe it's considered a weed in your parts? and vinca is a very passable ground cover, imho.

                              go rent 'white girls'!

great idea on dg's new business, truly great! and dg, sounds like you have your work cut out for you just figuring out which direction to choose. i was just talking about this with my good friend who's inclined to go into psychiatric nursing. she was saying it's serious stuff, that you do a lot of work with a patient way before they even see a doctor. and that it's scary what happens to people when they (have to) go medical with their mental health; new medicines and lots of them at once create their own whole new slew of challenges and problems. good luck with all of that pathwork, and meanwhile enjoy your studies!
