forgive the extra "haves" and wrong 'to". Blink told me to roll past that and I will from now on.

    Thanks

Who you're talking about is scratching at my consciousness, but I can't for the life of me remember who it is. We could try doing a search here for "high blood pressure", but I have a feeling it would turn up a ton of posts. Might be worth a shot though. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sunny that was dealing with HBP, I don't recall reading about that in her posts, at least.

By the way, I shot myself in the foot by talking about how the Exforge keeps my BP at 100/70 consistently. I came home from work yesterday and was feeling absolutely extraordinary. I'd had energy all day at work and I was REALLY looking forward to grabbing my iPod and going for a run. But something felt OFF inside. I felt GOOD, but also kind of... not right, if you know what I mean. Something told me to check my BP. Holy shit. 150/90.

Not such a good idea to go running. I took an extra Exforge and hopped on the inversion table (was going to do that prior to running anyway, the back pain has been SO intense lately). I tried to just relax while hanging there, as I'd been kind of hopped up all day and thought that might be causing the high BP. Dumbass that I can be at times, I checked it again after hanging upside down for 20 minutes! :H 160/100, which is what it used to be all the time before I got on my BP meds. I knew why it went up, but was bummed about not being able to go for a run. I did yoga instead and that was probably the better option anyway. Got me into a really nice headspace.

It's back down to 116/77 this morning, which is great, but still not as low as it usually is. There could be all kinds of factors contributing to it being higher right now, but I definitely need to start doing other things to keep it under control. So I'm back to supplementing with magnesium. I'll use up the rest of the diatomaceous earth that I have (which isn't much) and then order some more. And I'll either search around online for natural remedies, or just buy the book off of Amazon (which, according to some of the reviewers, contains info. that you can find by searching online yourself anyway).

Anything I find that is helpful, I'll make sure to share with you. And vice versa, please!

        Bruun, Isolde,

I have been taking Potassium Gluconate for some time. My blood pressure fluctuates (before Bac) and this helps me. As always, I am not a doctor so I advise that you consult your doctor or pharmacist. I am not sure of your health and/or medicines you take and it can contraindicate. (I hope that's the right word? Not adviseable with certain medicines)

        Potassium Gluconate:
Potassium gluconate is an organic potassium salt that is given as a dietary supplement. Available as both an over-the-counter and a prescription medication, potassium gluconate is prescribed for individuals who need to replenish their bodies' potassium supply due to depletion from illness or certain medications. Potassium gluconate comes in liquid and tablet forms. Potassium is one of the most frequently prescribed minerals in the United States.

        Function:
Potassium is one of the primary electrolytes in the human body, carrying tiny positive electrical charges through the blood and cells. Potassium plays an important part in maintaining blood pressure, regulating the body's pH, balancing water content, regulating the heart beat and aiding nerve cell impulses. Additionally potassium contributes to the conversion of food to energy and the growth of muscle cells.

          Bruun,
I re-read your posts and the vomiting and diarrhea can cause low Potassium.

          My best,

LL, you are so good, wow, thanks for caring so much. I think we all realize we're one organism, in a way, trying to float then to swim instead of continuuing to drown. I'm glad you're in the honeymoon stage, I think it must exist to help those of us that get there, to power on. (I didn't even notice any grammar mistakes, so don't worry, I'm working on that very same thing). I'm being philosophical or mystical today, not sure which.

I take a potassium sparing BP drug, I wonder if I could replace it with the Potassium Gluconate you site below -is your RX? I'm not vomiting or having the other either, due to massive anti-diarrheal pill intake. God only knows what THOSE are doing to my gut. Like taw, my GI system seems to be bearing the brunt of the AL and has now for 12 years.

On drugs.com it says about potassium glutonate:

You should not take potassium gluconate tablets if you have problems with your esophagus, stomach, or intestines that make it difficult for you to swallow or digest pills. Before using potassium gluconate, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have:
            • kidney disease;
            • heart disease, an enlarged heart, or high blood pressure;a blockage in your stomach or intestines; orchronic diarrhea (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease).
Of course, this type of warning is almost a generic disclaimer to protect the website from liability. Of course, this site has a similar disclaimer about Exforge, Is. Further, "Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes while you are taking Exforge, unless your doctor has told you to."

Is, think you're right, saw a post from Sunny saying she got cured on bac so she wouldn't be the one who had to quit bac due to HPB. Maybe it was another person with Sunny in the name? Hmmm. Regarding searching, I have tried that, but can't seem to search MWO for the string "high blood pressure", I get millions of hits and each post may have one or more of the words and not necessarily together, like "work pressure makes me want to get high" etc. Just a lame thing I can't figure out how to do. Any suggestions? I did put quotes around them and without. Maybe I was bac'd out or generally just being stupid.

Also, the DE you're taking, how do you take it - I have a pool and use it in the filter but it's not food grade. I hear it's good to take internally for getting rid of parasites (like worms), if memory serves.

I know all that stuff is searchable online, but I looooove books, I hate to add up what I spend in a year on books. I wouldn't probably buy the Cure because the Amazon reviewer summarizes it and I've tried 80% of the supplements (online research over the last ten years), and found it's not powerful enough for me. However, that author is particularly good about describing how the body works and why each supplement fits into the regimen - at least, that's what I found in his 8 Week Cholesterol Cure book.

Is & Lush, thanks for all the info, it's great to learn this stuff, thanks for thinking about me. I will share anything I know or find about the HBP and other stuff! Glad you didn't go running Is -

Rant: I am tired of wondering which online reviews are real and which are fake, to think there are whole companies that spend their time defending their customers 24/7 online, with fake reviews and combatting negative reviews. It's amazing. We sure aren't in Kansas anymore, Dorothy!

Sorry if this is all over the place, I'm really tired as usual, barely on any bac (20mg) so figuring its from my GI tract going through whatever it's going through. Fighting an internal bleed or something.

Today, I promise my dog I will take him for a walk, rain or shine.

            :thanks:

              A moment to breathe

              Hello,

Last night I went AF, no, don't applaud me, it was necessary and I really had no choice. It's my gut, I think all the weeks of diarrhea meds and drinking and bac and HBP have dropped me into an AL free zone due to body breakdown. It's been like spiraling down the kitchen (yuck) drain.

So, I am sober today, feeling weak and tired, hopeful that this will be a trigger for me to stop binging. Been here before, so I'm not saying it's my day 1 AF, normally I wouldn't mention it but I'm thinking if I hold myself accountable to you all, it may help my behavior around cravings. Taking tons of L-glut but can't really take anything else but soup due to gut.

Hope everyone does well today with their SE's and AF and family and friends.

Just a quick response about the DE. Yeah, you absolutely don't want to ingest the stuff for the pool filter! :H The food grade DE does supposedly get rid of parasites, along with a whole host of other things. I take about a quarter of a juice glass (ok, rocks glass!), and put either oj or grapefruit juice (grapefruit has been my choice of late), dump in a heaping tablespoon of DE, and then fill it up to about halfway with water. Stir it all up and drink, stir and drink, etc. until glass is empty. It doesn't taste bad at all and doesn't even really seem chalky or gritty to me either.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE books too! I have way too many of them though, even after getting rid of BOXES full (donated to the library), what I have left is still taking up too much space. I got a Kindle and love the crap out of it.

LL, thanks so much for the helpful info! And to you Bruun, for pointing out the contraindication with Exforge. All kinds of good stuff we're sharing!

                        Thanks and more ...

Okay, yesterday I was AF again, the thought of AL made me sick, and again I admit this is my body rejecting it, not my mind. My body is still toxic and today I woke up feeling clammy and dizzy. Could be partially attributable to the benedryl and xanax I popped twice during the night to help me sleep due to congestion. I started headache/chest congestion soon after taking my bac. I only took 25mg all day. At least I'm off the diarrhea meds. They made me feel bad too.

But I'm hopeful, in two days I'm looking better in the mirror for no AL.

Can you all tell me, will the bac help me detox (handle any issues) if I am able to stay AF? I've never gone more than 4 days so I'm wondering if there's a detox thing that happens about day 5. And I do have the xanax if that would help, I'm accustomed to taking 1/2 mg/night but more sometimes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is, thanks for the info, do you take the DE daily? If so, what does it do for you again? Sorry, very foggy here in my mind...

Grommet and Bleep, thanks guys, so sweet. I'll hang on to this as long as I can. I'm trying hard to be positive. I feel awful though, so weak, it's hard. But you all know how that is! :H
