    Bruun's Titting UP

    Bruun,
"DG, hope your studying is going well. LL, hugs and Space, you can have this cat, she will slap the hell out of any dog and get them to behave.'

What did I miss with the cat slapping and stuff? I have to get back reading! I'll chill some later on when I get time. Why does my job interfere me with "work"?
    Drives me crazy! :-)

Goo growing on your counter stills sounds gooey! Like one of those horror shows where it turns into an alien or something and takes over your house. LOL

Gotta run, life is good and another sober day ahead!

    Love everyone!:l

      hey there bruun,

sorry to hear about your doldrums. but that's great about drinking less! i hope you can keep it up; i know you know how much better you will feel. i'm thinking of you.

well that's just spiffy about your dad visiting you out of guilt. gosh, nice of him to tell you that, instead of: 'honey, i'd really like to come see you, see how you're doing...' dads can be so limited! where does he hail from (how strong is his guilt)? i hope that goes okay, and that you can enjoy his company even with the wine.

stay strong, woman. you'll pull through.

i'm off to start my day...

      love you,
      rudy

Its great to hear that your managing to drink less Bruun, you really will start feeling better but you know that, it does take its toll the older you get Im 49 and over the last few years I started rooling down that hill with wheels on when I drank it would hit me so hard and Id always seem to have to get myself in a really bad way before I would stop.
One of my neigbours cats hangs round my house probably because I feed him and he even comes in the house if the door is open, I have found him upstairs before and he doesnt like being picked up so cant get him out, my dogs go mad when hes outside tormenting them but dont notice when he comes in. I make sure they are out the back.

Hi Bruun & Friends!!! Quick check in for me before I run out the door. Going to AA this morning before I head out to school. This early morning AA group is a well grounded bunch - is that because it's morning??? Dunno... anyway...

Bruun I am so happy to hear that you are drinking less. I know for me - whatever else was going on in my life/health, drinking just made everything worse. I'm sure it's not helping the depression, the BP, or any of it. I am rooting for you my friend!!!!! Dads. Go figure. I am often about my own too. :l I'm glad we have each other around here.

LL - I'm right there with ya not wanting any "mother of strange" growing on my counter tops! :H (kudos to all with your strong stomachs for what is healthy!)

Reggie - I type VERY fast, hence all these long, sandwich worthy posts.

Space - wow I can really relate to the toll AL has taken by age 49. That was my age when I first came to MWO - finally ready to admit I had some sort of problem. (and THAT was quite a gross minimalization!) I was 50 when I had my last drink. LOL on the kitty who comes right on in!!! :egad:

Is - I came across this blog and thought of you and the others here (you too Bruun) all searching for health related answers. I've only read a few of her posts but it seems really interesting. Off the Food Grid: October 2011 I came across this through the Fast-5 Yahoo group. I hope your knee is feeling better!!

rudyb - you have a peaceful and wonderful day!

Hello to all friends - yes where is Brenda??? I can't believe she hasn't jumped on periods, hairy legs, and a few other choice topics.

Have a wonderful day you guys! Sending you strong vibes Bruun for dealing with Dad. See you at the campfire later.

I forgot to chime in about intermittent fasting when you mentioned it earlier. I'm not sure what the Fast-5 approach is, so I'll do some reading up on it. But I was doing intermittent fasting for a couple of months - fasting for at least 16 hours, with an 8 hour eating window. Oddly enough, though so many people find it freeing, I found it made me obsess about food more, even though I found it easy to do. Bac has freed me from my food obsession, and now I do better when I just listen to my body and eat what and when I want, rather than when and what I'm "supposed to".

I got my new special shoes yesterday from Zappos! They've got springs in them that return 96% of your energy and are supposed to be great not only for athletes, but also for people with back and knee problems. They're really comfy, so hopefully they will help. Been keeping up with my knee rehab exercises.

I'm down to 100mg of bac. I didn't want to go this low, but I needed to do something to counteract the overwhelming anxiety I was feeling (not sure if it was bac related, but I definitely feel better now). I'm still indifferent, but the thought of AL isn't such a turn off as it was when I was higher. Today and tomorrow will test it. Tonight is the rehearsal dinner and tomorrow is the wedding. There will be LOTS of good food and all kinds of alcoholic beverages. So I'll be tested in both areas.

Bruun, I should also mention that many people who start taking coconut oil regularly experience improved mood and energy levels. So what are you waiting for, woman? I can't think of anyone who is a better candidate for CO than you. I hope you melted some into your coffee this morning! I'm going to start hounding you... :l Let's make it a challenge - I bet that you will see an improvement in your bp! Start with a tbsp. a day and see how it goes, ok?

Yeah, I second what pretty boy said.

                    Hang loose, girls!

EDIT: First time around, I forgot the comma in "hang loose, girls" and that gave it a completely different meaning :H. Ha! Rudy and her mom are spot on to care so much about about such t'ings.

The trick is to go ahead and respond to what you want to right when you read it, rather than waiting until you get caught up and going back. Or you could just do a better job at checking in more often!

                        Bruun's Titting UP

Hi everyone!!! I am so tempted to just open every thread here at MWO and read and post and fritter away the afternoon! That would be fun and I would love it!

                        but...

If I put my nose to the grindstone and get enough school work done, then I MIGHT be able to watch some of NHK Trophy - one of the figure skating Grand Prix events - LIVE. That would be fun too! So that is my goal!

Does anyone know of a down side to coconut oil? Other than eating too much of it too soon if you have Candida overgrowth, and feeling lousy from too much die off at once, I haven't heard of any. I'm interested in what you guys have heard. (I don't think there is much reason NOT to eat it?????)

LL - I think mine might be Topical Traditions? I like mine to be organic and extra virgin. (I started to say "like Brenda" but then I deleted it. Don't want to start trouble you know! Brenda is NOT a coconut - she's a chick.)

IS - what kind of shoes did you get? (I'm sorry if I missed it! Hard to keep up with you lovelies - we're a busy, active group!) Would they be of interest to a back surgery survivor? (me)

Space - You will get a more thorough answer from others, but I like it as a healthy oil, an oil that holds up well cooking in high heat, it is also good on the outside as a lip balm or skin softener, it is helpful as an antifungal for Candida yeast overgrowth which I had (and I think many of us do) from all the drinking. (sugar)

Oh Is - on the fasting. It's always interesting to me what works for different people. I seem to be doing much better with a clear "black and white" eat, don't eat schedule than I did trying to eat 5 or 6 mini (for me, unsatisfying) meals per day. We'll see - maybe I'm still in the "pink cloud" phase! Fast-5 = 5 hour eating window.

Hope everyone is having a good day! LoOp - I hope you find time to weigh in on the various things we're discussing - intersted in your opinions.

Yes, I do. I also appreciate the cavalier disregard for tradition you displayed by placing a comma before "and". Most liberating I'm sure. Perhaps we need a ruling from SJM.

Every tablespoon of coconut oil has about 126 calories. 3x a day and that would be 378 calories. For me that's not a lot but for a female that can constitute a major portion of your daily allotment.
