    Bruun's Titting UP

    Wow,

DG is my rock and I have not seen her in 5 days! Bruun, where are you?
I have to figure out the Bac and Antabuse thing because the anxiety is over the top on both.
I hope all is well! Bruun, where are you?

And he was completely unabashed. I would die. :H It's silly, but come on. Wouldn't you? Natural my fanny. :H This is hilarious because, after a week off, I finally got back in the game with an awesome hot yoga class tonight. And the guy next to me DID fart at one point! Luckily I didn't notice any odor. I'm sure he was embarassed, poor guy. But damnit, sometimes it happens! I'm not ashamed to admit (ok, maybe just a little bit), that I had to hold one back at one point during class! At least I had enough control in the moment to be able to do that.

What is with this thread being so darn quiet lately? In a way I'm glad, because I haven't had time to check in lately and there wasn't much to catch up on, but seriously, where the heck IS everyone?

Hello Bruun and friends!!! Wow I have missed you all! I can also see from a quick thread scan that there are many interesting topics under review that I want to know more about!! Is, I was just recently reading about gelatin and some of it's wonderful benefits. Then I promptly forgot all about my Knox Boxes. Oy. Much to figure out and remember!

LadyLush, so glad to see you!!!! Wow I am honored to be one of your pet rocks. I hope life is good for you!

Ne I hope your pup is feeling much better now. I know it's hard when they start showing signs of getting old.

Space I am so happy to hear of your new pet Coconut!

How are you Bruun? How did pup like the raw turkey leg? We have been raw feeders for a very long time and our dogs all thrive on it. Even the one will all the problems (most likely genetic). She can't eat the same raw stuff as the other ones but she is still alive on raw fish and cooked potatoes.

I am being buried alive in school work. So I gotta go. Whenever I come on here I get so interested in what everyone is saying and doing...one read leads to another and....hours go by. So I really need to have restraint for two more week! Ne, did I hear you say ONE more week of school????? If so, I'm mighty jealous! My last final is on the 15th.

Hello also to Pete, Brenda, Red, lurkers, and oneone I'm not thinking of at the moment. (old age is my excuse!)

          Bruun's Titting UP

          Hi All,

Ne, give her some raw chicken wings to start out. Just one. I pour boiling water on the stuff since its cold straight from the fridge and my pup is picky about that. I haven't given him the leg - I'm going to cook it up for dinner for me. I have some chix wings for him in the freezer I'll go thaw today. I decided not to give him the turkey leg because sometimes a chicken leg has a really large joint that I think can be a bit hard.

Also, re Goose, the day before T-day I was at the dogpark and for the first time ever, there were fights. You're right, the pups get stressed when we do, and there were FOUR fights. Not my pup, thankfully. But there was something going on and by Saturday, all was calm, even boringly slow in the dogpark.

LL, I thought that was ironic, not humorous - since you and I and others still struggle alot. Just goes to show how universal the struggle is. That guy doesn't know what he's in for, at that stage, I don't think.

Bruun, what did you ever do about that email from River Pharmacy? did you give them info or just cancel your order? I just ordered from them for the first time and got the email...I don't have a doc...could try and give them a fake name and number....

Huh? What? Huh? I've probably missed a lot (I put it down to being a woman and multi-tasking and being so busy because we have to do everything because men are so useless, what with their ... errrr ... penises and all) but raw turkey and chicken for doogies? Dire non, s'il vous plait! What abut the splinterey bones foul is famous for? You never give foul bones to your hounds, surely?

Brenda, the bones aren't splintery unless cooked, raw is natural dog food - what the heck do you think wild dogs eat besides human babies? Oh and those are soft bones too. They eat wild fowl, rodents, etc. Not all bones are hard, you porn hound. Just you watch, someday you'll die alone in your house with your hounds shut in with you for a month, and see how many foul bones they eat then! So there!

I didn't know you guys were raw feeders! The boxer that I have with my ex (he has her most of the time now) has been fed raw since she was a puppy, and she is the healthiest dog I've ever seen! Absolutely no doggie smell, no bad breath, super clean white teeth, no health issues whatsoever. I have tried to convince my family (5 dogs between everyone) that it's the natural way for the dogs to eat, but they just won't get on board. Luckily they will feed my dog raw whenever I've needed someone to watch her. She mostly gets chicken thighs because they are so cheap, but I also try to make sure she gets some organ meat and some salmon here and there too. I used to give her turkey legs on occasion, but it took her FOREVER to eat them. She's a funny girl - she won't put her paw on part of it to hold it down while she gnaws, so she ends up chasing it all over (this was back when we used to feed her in her crate, but the crate was put away a long time ago).
She does get traditional dog treats on occasion, but I figure that is like her junk food - so long as it is only very occasionally, it's no big deal.

Alright, end of the work day, time for yoga!

                        Hey Is,

I tried raw feeding for my shepherd's itchy skin, and I did it for a month with no improvement. My theory is that all the meat is grain fed and unless that changes (grass fed becomes cheap!), there's no escaping grains/corn.

Oh and oops, it was turkey wings, not legs, so pup will have a fabulous supper tonight!

                          But,

I have to side with Brenda; I NEVER give my dogs chicken bones. My dad had to save my grandmothers' dog many years ago with a chicken bone caught in his throat. He was a collie. He drove from Massachusetts to Canaan Connecticut to save that dog. I never, ever give bird bones to a dog.
But Bruun made me think with her analogy...I mean really, what do wild dogs do?

                          A thought to ponder.

                          Thanks!

That's a good point. You might want to consider putting some coconut oil into your dog's food. They LOVE it and it's as good for them as it is for us.

Good question, Lushy. If one cares to observe my Border Collie whilst out and about in the park, doing his own thang, you'll note that his preferred foodstuff is crap. He loves to eat all crap, whether from dog, geese, rabbit, fox, he loves it all. I even once saw him running delightedly, with his head held high, his tail in the air and a human turd in his mouth.

So, I've caught him eating crap a hundred times, but NEVER have I even once found him with a wild turkey or chicken in his mouth.
