Oh, we're quite comfy in this one together thank you! :l

Hmm. 3 months and no replies... Strange box you're in there :H But since you're in there all by yourself there's probably room to stretch your legs out, and bring a few stuffed animals I guess.

Hmmm. We're going to have to disagree to disagree.
I think starting a music thread in this section contributes to the isolationist propaganda fueled in the other threads. I also think it's a reflection of how we feel about participation in general. (Our way is the right way. Any other way is not.)
I know that's reading a lot into it, and I know personally from contact with both Isolde and Lo0p over many months that we feel strongly about sharing and integrating.
              Here's what's more important:
By having threads unrelated to baclofen on the meds threads, I feel we are distracting from the life-saving alternative that Baclofen offers to many at the end of their rope.
It's very important to remind ourselves and others that finding and keeping sobriety is fun, and that we are interesting people with depth of thought.
I just don't understand why it's so difficult to just use the forum the way it's set up? "What We're Listening To" doesn't seem like a very scary forum, to me.
              Just sayin'
But we can agree to disagree. I've said my piece.
And btw, no responses to my thread just means I have lousy taste in music. Plus nobody in that forum knows any of us. But several of them are very, very interesting in their own right.
Try it maybe? Just for a bit? That's all I'm asking.
Peace out. I'm done. Thanks for bearing with.

Yup. Gave it a listen. I remember the original by Trent Reznor now.

But we need another thread for those, my bad.

I didn't even realize. Were you hinting at that earlier and I missed it? Must be the male in me.

Well eff you NE. The way you put it is so fu&(ing succinct. And the way you say it is so damn compelling. I have no choice but to acquiesce. You're just...right. It must be the female in you.

Actually, I didn't realize that's what she was trying to say either! Sorry Karen, we really got all off on a Tool tangent. It wasn't the intent of this thread, but well, two Maynard devotees can get quite lost in things!

That being said, before heading over to "the" music thread, I'm going to go bac and respond to some things on the Tool front.

I'm excited for myself!!! I usually call Aenima my favorite...usually.
Aenima is a really great album. But it was Undertow that got me into Tool, and it's usually the album that makes me fall in love with a band that ends up being my favorite for at least a long time, if not indefinitely. (Songs of Faith and Devotion is still my favorite Depeche mode album, but let's not get any more off topic here!).

My favorite song off of Undertow started off as Swamp Song, and flipped around between that and Undertow and eventually even Flood was vying for supremacy (which is funny because I used to always skip it, since it has such a slow start, but once it gets going, it's awesome).

I'm interested to see which ones grab you (which we can discuss elsewhere!).

I used to scrawl this all over my notebooks in high school:

Trust in me and fall as well

I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave
I will work to elevate you

Oh, this is a really good one. I remember where I was when I first heard Cash's version. It was a moment for me that is the complete antithesis of what the song is about, luckily, and it will always be a "wow" moment in my life.

I read up recently about Trent's reaction when he heard that Johnny Cash wanted to cover one of his songs. Very cool stuff.
