All seems to be going very well edo. Good to hear.
I was in a massive race with myself, which is a pity - I raced through the level you are now at without savouring it properly. It's a fantastic level indeed.
Coalfire's comment to the lurkers is a good thing - you don't want someone rushing off and trying something that has the potential to really ruin their day, and people put a surprising amount of weight to what they read here!

My Diary (baclofen)
Edostan,
I dropped to 150 yesterday because I fell asleep before my last dose...YAY as in SLEEP!
I will post my dosage in my thread I think it is in the moms on Bac thread.
You mentioned Costco and I have to send you this joke I got today...and I mean only 5 minutes ago....so don't get upset because we always have to be able to laugh through this journey!
A TRIP TO COSTCO
Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina
dog chow for my loyal pet, Biscuit, the Wonder Dog and was in the
checkout line when the woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired and
have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog,
I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probablly
shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd
lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with
tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that
it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and
simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is
nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to
try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the
dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an
Irish Setter's ass and a car hit us both.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack
he was laughing so hard.
Costco won't let me shop there anymore.
Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time
in the world to think of crazy things to say.
Swear I just got this from a friend via e-mail..
And to your original post with the mention of Costco..

That they do. Its my healthcare background and my general neurotic/worry wart personality. I will try to restrain myself but it will only spill over somewhere else. At least thats my daily worry over. I can sleep now.I am a sobriety tart. AA/Smart/RR philosophy, meds/diet/exercise/prayer,rabbbits feet/four leaf clovers/horseshoes. I don't recognize the post to fit anyone on here.....oh ya, there is one guy on here that RACED to the finish line. As a matter of fact he pushes us all every day, not extremely fast but has that light at the end of the tunnel waiting on us!
I think his name starts with a "B"?:l

I wonder how the tortoise and hare story would turn out if both of the participants had been hares. I guess we'll find out.
Congrats on your sleep. I only got four hours, but I'll prolly have a little nap in my office today. You know, "research".
By the way, I'm not sure who is the bigger culprit in my insomnia, Baclofen, or you crazy people.

I hear you!
This site is addictive and so uplifting! That is right, you and I are on our way and we will both be to the other side eventually, but you know I am a woman...oh no, wrong thread
Cheers my friend and we would never be where we are if we did not have enough sense to slow down if need be. This is my life and this journey is mine! And it is so good to be walking with so many others into a journey that was only a dream.
I can feel the finish line...and Edostan where are you?? Just kidding. So Glad we are both doing well and know we have almost caught that darn illusive carrot!

oh my goodness. You guys are so sweet I hate to interrupt. (ftr, Serenity and I feel the same way about each other. At least I do. :h:h:h)
I interrupt to discuss how disgusted I am with the knuckleheaded sales guy who blasted (understandably) the tea party gangs for being racist (ahem) and has caused the CEO of NPR to have to resign. EDIT!!! omg, I'm embarrassed what a knucklehead I am. That guy was a high level fundraiser and what he said? Oy. He deserves to be fired and so does SHE, the CEO. It was wrong on so many levels. I'd delete it, but I'm not allowed to do that anymore.
Lots of good advice around here, but lo0p gave me my #3 Best: GUARD YOUR SLEEP! Stay in bed, keep the computer off, close your eyes and wait for sleep to return. Giving into the insomnia will eff you up worse than bac or booze or both. All three? you might enter the twilight zone. NOT fun. just sayin'
(number one is from Low, just keep taking the damn pills-jkttdp. Number 2, courtesy of Lo0p, Ignominious and many others: GO UP! :H)

My Diary (baclofen)
Hey all.
A quick update. Went up to 180 today. It kinda kicked my ass. Was soooooo sleepy and heavy headed. But if experience is a guide, tomorrow will be better.
Going to see my psychiatrist tomorrow. I go once a month, basically just to get drugs, no refills in this country. When I went to see him last month, I took some print outs of Dr. Ameisen's story and a couple of studies. Of course he'd never heard of it, but was interested and said he'd look into it. I guess I'll find out if he did. My first baclofen was already on order at that time, but I didn't tell him that. So, tomorrow I have to tell him that I'm already taking double the maximum daily dose that he could prescribe (80 or 100mg). Then, I have to ask him to please prescribe it for me. If I can get 80 a day through the national insurance, it would really help to keep my costs down. Medicine is really cheap here, and baclofen is cheap to begin with. I'm hoping my eventual maintenance dose will be within the limit. One thing that will probably shock him is that I haven't been taking my Xanax. I'm sure he'll be interested in that. He's a good guy, so I'm hopeful that he'll come on board. If he does, he'll almost certainly be the first doctor in Japan doing this.
I have to pause here and praise the health care system in my adopted country. Japan's national health plan is awesome. No waiting lists, can visit any hospital or clinic in all of Japan (new patient fee for the first visit), insurance is not tied to my job except for the fact that they are required by law to pay half. I pay around $300US per month. When I go to the doctor, or dentist I pay 30%. Now those of you in America are thinking 30%! That's outrageous. Actually what's outrageous is how expensive healthcare is in America. Big pharma has very little power here, our political campaigns are publicly financed. Example, I had a root canal this and last week. 3 visits, total cost out of pocket was about $60. Had a MRI last year, $50. My psychiatrist visits are under $10, and drugs are super cheap. The government negotiates with the pharmaceutical companies to bring the prices down, or they just don't buy it. No insurance companies, no big hospital chains. This is socialized (commie, grandma killing, death panel) single payer health care at its very best. I got so angry watching the health care crap in the US a couple of years ago. There was a newspaper in England which ran the headline "Half of Americans are Idiots" or something to that effect when Bush was elected to his second term. That's how I felt every time I read any news about the health care debates. It was a little bit oversimplified in Michael Moore's movie "sicko", but basically right on. Watch it if you've never seen it. I imagine most of you have. By the way, if you are republican and I have offended you, just ignore it like you do the rest of reality.
Whew! That's finished. I'm feeling much better now and am going to take Ne's advice about going to bed.
Good night.Stan... Edo Stan... "shaken, not stirred"

Unbelievable! I had to pay the equivalent of $300 for root canal and that's the subsidised National Health Service price.
