    Happy Birthday to Me

    ok, got it - the switch is real and not an almost thing. kumbaya people, kumbaya.:l

    Off topic: Just saw on news that 2 dogs were almost starved/frozen to death. Thankfully they're ok. People can be so stupid/cruel sometimes. Just call the shelter or humane society if you can't take care of them. Yeesh!

      That just breaks my heart, too. Seeking_Serenity does a lot of work with shelter animals. I think I may get back into it, myself. Though my dog will be very, very sad if I bring home a new furry 'brother' or 'sister' for her. And that is ALWAYS what I end up doing!
      Still, it's very tempting!

        Happy Birthday to Me

        hello nico and welcome,
        to your original question; the titration schedule from dr L. Is posted under questions about baclofen for dr L.
        I went to rehab but that was before BAC was well known. I really got a lot out of rehab but if I were drinking again I would try the BAC first. rehab is so expensive and you can always just go to meetings which are free if you feel the need. I just had to get out of my town and away from all the drunks I knew for 30 days. and I was desperate.
        sunny went to a rehab that used BAC I believe.
        for the record I'm not on BAC. yet.

          Mate;

          I did both out and inpatient rehab in the UK, neither worked as effective as bac.

            Happy Birthday to Me

            Let's see, I've tried AA in 2 different states, 7 different cities and all I've got to show for it are a couple of nice silver poker chips. Never made it to day 30 in AA, I guess I was hoping rehab would be different. But, from what everyone on this forum says - Baclofen is way more effective. Going to contact a local psychiatrist who specializes in addictionology - which is different than the 12 step specialists. Well, he should be I guess. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to do this over the phone and computer.

            Thanks for the support everybody

                Happy Birthday to Me

                Well my birthday present came early, a week early! My bac showed up and I'm ready to start. Unfortunately I have family here today and tomorrow so I'm going to hold off for a couple of days in case of SEs. I want to be able to do this right. I'm going to follow the dr. L titration schedule, maybe even go slower to minimize any side effects. I figure a few days or weeks to save my life for good isn't that big a deal in grand scheme of things. I'm so excited to begin though!

                Will keep you all posted.
