    Baclofen Side effects scare me

    I am now on 110mg.
Reading all the posts...Some people say there are strong SEs. Some people say there are none.
I am experiencing very strong mood change and other effects. Dizzy , head heavy, very angry, can't finish conversations and sometimes loosing my thoughts. Cant sleep normally, cant achieve the "big O"...
My doc said if I titrate up slowly (adding 10Mg per week) , it will no side effects , but my experience shows its not the case.

After I supposedly hit the "switch" in the hopefully near future :H, will those effects continue for rest of my life? Also , what about unknown effect of long term BAC usage?

It is funny I have a thought : it is better to stop drinking voluntary than be on BAC and have those strange ( and strong too) SE all my life...
Don't want to be sound too pessimistic , just if anyone can summarize the SEs and what to expect.

    Baclofen Side effects scare me

Day, embrace the SE's - they are proof the baclofen is working, They all disappear once you adapt to a dose, even the nice ones.

It is better to be on baclofen than to not be on baclofen, to paraphrase Hamlet.

There is no real summary, everyone is different - just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Attitude is everything when it comes to SE's...

Hang in there Day, for your own sake.

      Baclofen Side effects scare me

      DaybyDay,
      Hi!
I have had those some of those same thoughts myself, for sure.

I can direct you toward a thread on the side effects, but frankly it did me more harm than good! :H

The side effects vary widely from person to person. Some of mine have been very uncomfortable, some of them are annoying, and some are sort of fun!

They have been different for me at different levels of baclofen. The libido one, for instance, has been both frustrating and well, a new level of enlightenment. Now it's just normal.

I take comfort in being able to share them here, and that others have experienced the same things. Certainly the dizzy, heavy head, can't follow a train of thought ones are annoying and sometimes really, really disconcerting.
I haven't really found myself angrier than normal but that could just be a part of my personality I accept!
There is one thing that is for sure, for all of us. The SEs level out and become unnoticeable or at least manageable.
If I could have quit drinking without baclofen I probably would have. But I tried many (many, many, many, many, etc...) times and could never make it happen. I know with certainty that if I have to take baclofen for the rest of my life it will have no more impact than my cholesterol medication does. And both promise a complete suppression of the life-risking symptoms.
Express away! That's why we're all here. The journey has been more fun for me with company!
      :ls
