I also went way way down in my dose.

      Switch Happens! YAY ME!

      Thank you everyone :l

Just getting ready to hit the hay after finishing up my 6th night SOBER!!! ...and without a struggle. I am absolutely amazed at this. Can't believe it. Wow'd like I've never been before.

Seriously, if you know you need to change and have had no success before, get the BAC. Do it and trudge through the side effects (which can and will be daunting) I'll pull together highlights from my diary and post... Worthy of a share, especially since I gave up last year (started Oct. quit in Dec b/c of SE's) Was dertermined to change in the New Year, and gave it 100% :bananacomputer:

You can too! As Nike says, Just Do It!

Indifference is in your future with Baclofen. It works!

My frustration with Baclofen, which is shared by Dr. Oliver Ameisen, is that because Baclofen is an off patent medication there is no profit motive for drug companies to support clinical trials that would demonstrate its efficacy in treating addiction.

          Way to go Help!

I love the fact that you went off the Bac then came right back and rang the bell a month later! Very inspiring!

            Switch Happens! YAY ME!

Thanks Grommet. I have to say, I titrated up very steadily this time and did not face the SE's as badly as before. I wonder if it was the way I did dosage this time.

            7am - 50
            10am - 25
            12pm - 50
            2pm - 25
            4pm - 50
            6pm - 25
            8pm - 50

I've been staying steady with this (minus the 6pm 25) since last Sat. I'm still at 250. Almost afraid to go down.... :/ I will though, slowly.... and keep you posted.

As for tonight (day 7) I am going to my son's basketball game (instead of hiding out at home getting glugged) and feel sooooooooooooooo thankful and elated. Thank you BAC!!!!

              Switch Happens! YAY ME!

Help4, congrats, this is a great story. I just had to reduce dose due to SEs including high blood pressure, the latter being the biggest decision factor. Hearing your story (and Serenity's) gives me hope; especially the starting again bit, and going quickly if the BP doesn't rocket. Thanks for posting your story, and keep it up! Good luck, and again, congrats to you!

                Switch Happens! YAY ME!

Thanks Bruuun. I think the BP thing would be a major scary factor! However, if you can titrate steadily and regularly perhaps you would avoid that?! I found my SE's (nausea, flem overload, coughing, light flashes, twitching, HUGE carb loaded appetite --gaining 15 pounds--, sweaty sleeps, etc...) were not as bad this second time around when I kept my dosing steady and upward and regular. Before I was sort of "all over the place" with my dosing. Not good.

                Anyway, good luck and ....

OH, one other (good?) thing that I've also noticed since hitting my switch last Friday is that not only do I have an aversion to wine (!!!!), but to my beloved coffee as well. So weird as I was a huge coffee drinker. Now, I cannot even have a cup in the morning. Bazaar, but with understanding the switch I can see how it may happen. I've been craving tea now which is helping my flem/coughing too!!!!

Has this happened to anyone else?

                  Switch Happens! YAY ME!

H4, I've found bac reduces my appetite, but then so does being really sick from a HO. In spite of eating nearly nothing, I'm gaining weight. Have you found bac to help you or hinder you in exercise?

Well, last Friday I got myself up to 275 (I'm F, 5'2" and 145 pounds), and guess what. It IS real. I have not wanted (truly have not wanted) any wine (I'm a wino) for the last 6 days. I sit here typing this and tonight would be a typical drinking night for me (my husband won't be home until late and my kids all have practice...so I would normally, drink. UG). However, I am looking forward to going home. Having a steak ceasar salad and a big diet ginerale and actually getting some work done.

WOW! Anyway, I wasn't going to post until at least I hit one week, but 6 days for me is close enough... I haven't had 6 days AF for at least 10 years. :woot:

Anyway, thanks for listening and for all of you that are still questioning this BAC stuff.... Just start or keep taking those pills!!! (as Ig had told me on another thread) Good advice Ig!!
