Absolutely, Serenity, we SHOULD all be fuckin' dead, now, and we're not. It's a fuckin' miracle.

I've posted that many times since bac saved my life in Oct. '09, when there weren't nearly as many bac'sters on the board. I am thrilled for you!! And I can report that my life returned more fully and more quickly than I could have imagined, and yours is likely too, as well!!!

Just as you say, one day an alcoholic, next day not. Poof!!

Aww, thank you so much, Lady! I'm so glad you found us here. As soon as I first heard about Bac in mid- to late-November, I found my way to MWO, and then to Dr. L. I started taking Bac on December 15. I knew somehow, deep down, that Bac would be my salvation. I had NO IDEA, however, how much my life would change as a result of this wonderful drug. My chronic anxiety? Gone. My alcoholism? It was truly a "switch." Like a light switch that just turned itself "off" one day. It was as clear-cut as could possibly be. I'm now sitting pretty at Day 3 without AL, and I still have two beers in my fridge, and they don't even appeal to me in the least. I know that some people still crave AL after their switch. I sure don't...not at all!

I'm so glad my story touched you! Do keep us posted on your progress. I'm so excited to read about your own bac journey. :h

Thanks, Red! :l Like Jules and Vincent, I truly feel like I've dodged a bullet. I'm 42 years old, and I have no doubt that I'd have died a horrible alcoholic death without this miracle. It really is like a switch has been turned off. A flame has been blown out. Nothing in my life could have possibly prepared me for this miracle. All I've known since reaching adulthood is being an alcoholic. I feel like a giddy little kid who's just starting a new life.

I'm SO glad you're on here, still testifying to Bac's miraculous properties. Keep on preaching it, Red! This stuff is truly amazing. I CANNOT believe I'm on the other side! :h

Welcome to the other side! Pretty amazingly....normal, isn't it? I've always envisioned the path ending at a bridge, covered in fog. I felt I had to take each step blindly, trusting there was something underneath that would keep me from plummeting. Turns out the bridge was made of lots of little pills! Now we're on the other side, the sun is out and the view is awe inspiring!

You were and are an inspiration, from start to finish! (Everyone should be paying very close attention to what and how you reached it, in my opinion.) You made it seem effortless, but we both know that it takes a huge commitment (a little tenacity doesn't hurt.) Fear of dying a miserable alcoholic death is a pretty good motivator, too.

I love you very much, so glad we've been on this ride together. (and just between you and me, I'd have been very put out if you had gotten there before me, and I was sure you were going to!)

Just allowing ya'll to keep me positive on a Friday night that is usually a blackout. Inspiration again is an understatement. You are right in the fact alcohol WILL kill us (alcoholics) if we do not get a grip.
You need to get rid of the dress with the "holes" because you are a "whole" person now.

Just wanted Lady to know that I have gone ahead and changed my avatar. I initially kept the old one so that people would still recognize me with my new user name.

My old one was a Viktor and Rolf couture dress. I posted another one, still a V & R couture dress, but without holes this time. I'll put a new one avatar soon, once I have time to think about it a little bit. :l

LADY! That's FANTASTIC! :goodjob: :applaud:

Your motivation to get done with the AL is so evident! I found that the less AL I consumed, the better I did during my (thankfully brief) journey to sobriety on Bac. The hangovers were so brutal.

I am at the lake, it is 78 degrees, and I see beauty through sober eyes. Thank God for all of you and Baclofen. The cravings are subsiding and my long lost friend willpower has come back. I am in a happy place right now and will not stop until the "switch".
