    New forum about baclofen

I did not see you post that much at MWO. I'm glad you took the trouble directing us to your site. I must warn you to be careful though. There once was a man here at MWO who was suspected to try to make an extra buck by directing us to his own website. He tried to proove the opposite but was not believed and slated. So I wish you a lot of succes with the new forum and I'll definitely will visit the site as long as I don't see any commercial banners Then again: a little healthy VOC-mentality is in our genes.
It could well be that after the Baclofen-research in Amsterdam, starting in oktober 2011 btw, exact research-plan will be written in spring 2011, there will be a huge 'market' for sites like these/yours. For now, I thank you for taking the effort of building a new forum.

We post on a forum with commercial banners. Ok it's not a forum based upon baclofen, but I thought everyone here wanted to spread the word. I was sceptical about baclofen at first and criticised for that. Perhaps a melting pot on this miraculous drug would be a good thing.

      Hi UK,

Oh sorry didn't see the banners. It's not about the banners. And you're right of course. A good site for Bac is always better. Hope you're ok. Can't keep up sometimes.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you at all. My Way Out is based upon a commercial product Roberta Jewell created. The forum has diversified but still appears under the banner of her system. I don't see how we can therefore be suspicious of any other sites. Anyone can lift threads, posts even at the click of a button from any forum.

I'm not sure if non-profit falls under "commercial".
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Right. I really, really didn't want to, but I feel I have to step in here. Roberta Jewell probably does make some money out of this site. I don't mind that in the least. I even pay a monthly amount to be a subscriber, even though I've never used her method or tried the supps. I do so gladly. Why? Because of the type of community we have here. Because all viewpoints are generally tolerated (notwithstanding fairly isolated incidents of tempers flaring) and all methods of ridding yourself of addiction are given space. To say thank you. To ensure that the site remains available to people like myself.

I also wish the guys over a the new forum well - that's why I went over there and posted about my own experience. In both English and Afrikaans (which is very close to Dutch). Even if they should derive some income from displaying banner ads to recoup the cost of operating the site, it'll be OK.

              What is NOT
OK, is for people to falsely represent themselves as medical practitioners and specialists in baclofen in an attempt at making money from bac. To try and misuse this community for their own purposes. If you don't know what I'm talking about, PM me. I really don't want to see this thread degenerating, as has happened in the past because of this topic.

I am thrilled and beyond excited that there is a space dedicated to all things bac related, in English. It's over-due. I'll do whatever I can to support and promote the new site. Not to the exclusion of MWO, because this is home.

I also feel a great deal of gratitude for mywayout and the owners of this site. Who are, by the way, a corporation and not a person. The person whose name is on that book is not even a person. It's a pseudonym.
I don't even care that the site is sponsored by an online drug company. More power to them. This site has offered me/us a great deal of latitude in posting what we do. Especially since much of it counters the messages to be found in the book.
I hope the owners of the company, and the person behind the pseudonym are very, very wealthy and living contented productive lives.

There are no banners, and no ads in the new site. When I've got time I'll try to suss out where the money is and why the site is up now.
I did find the Dutch version of the site, which is new-ish, but has some GREAT information about Dr. OA and other things.
You can find it by googling bac forum. Hit the translate option and read away!

Also, it's not non-profit, for sure. I think it may even be a publicly traded company, but not sure. capalo press

Whatever his faults, as far as I am concerned the man is a saint and understands Baclofen better than anyone.

Not nice to talk about people behind their backs. I thought we were through that!

                  Olivier Ameisen

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

                      New forum about baclofen

Well I'm back from holidays and will explain why I started this forum.

Im a 24 year old IT professional and have been struggling with alcoholproblems for 8 years. So I decided to try baclofen and experiment it myself, not just the ameisen method. My experiences were shocking so I decided together with a dutch friend of mine to start a new forum.

Since I know how to set things up I'm paying for the hosting myself, no commercial funds needed, and I will pay for the next years. I really believe baclofen is the key to almost all mental health problems and am a bit dissappointed about the posts ppl are making to pull users to this forum.

It was set up to be a source of information, not just a crosslink dump. Im not removing the links because I believe information should be shared. But I would appreciate some more detailed stories.

For questions I will be avaible all day. Ask me

                          Hi, anonymity.
Yes, I wondered how you would feel about the reception. We are an overly cautious, rather cantankerous (speaking for myself) and understandably suspicious lot...

I admire your effort and applaud you. A place dedicated to bac is very important. This place has a TON of history though, it'll take a while to catch up.
I'd like to post over there but I have the cookies blocked, i think, and I'm a little challenged in that regard.
What do I need to do to enable the site?
                          And nice job, btw.
Still wary, but also very excited. (what was your experience with bac? Why do you think it's a panacea?) (I agree, ftr.)

I'm a bit reticent because I don't have a medicine degree but I did university and have always been very interesting in psychology, philosophy and baclofen is very interesting on both of them.

If I have to give you an answer about the panacea? Yes I think it is, it's like insuline for diabetics.. and more. But I will explain that later because I dont think people are believing it right away. Time will tell.
