Sorry. Didn't mean to get awkwardly personal. I realize this is, first and foremost, a bac thread. Soooo...anyone having a hard time with restless leg syndrome on bac? I hadn't had it for years, and it recently came back with a vengance.

Absolutely. I'm a leg tapper at the best of times, but on baclofen I just about shook my legs off. Then it faded away almost completely. Now, I think it comes and goes, but it's nothing serious.
Coalfire is your "sobriety tart." Haven't seen her around for a while though.
It's hard to get overly personal here. Spill your heart out, it makes it easier to both give and receive help. On that note, I cannot work out what is going on with your avatar - the bird is sitting on the index finger, but what is it drinking out of? A wax thumb?

Hi windycity lady. :welcome:
It seems you are in good company with all us supplement junkies. There are quite a few of us. I haven't tried piracetam. I probably should have, because I had huge issues with fatigue and mental fogginess going up. The thought of popping another pill when taking both bac and the insane amount of supps I take, detered me. The good news is, after you find indifference and come down some, the tiredness and whatever else improves. I may try piracetam yet. I keep reading excellent things from Isolode, others, and now you.
Never worry about letting it all hang out here. We like that, so bring it baby.
I wonder if your windy city is my windy city? If so, it sure is living up to its name today, isn't it?This Princess Saved Herself

BAC again! Tell me peeps, how do you quote multiple messages from other people, in one post? I know, it's a little late to be asking. I see there's a multi-quote button. I figured that was multi-quoting a single post. I dunno, somebody clue me in?This Princess Saved Herself

You hit the multiquote button for the messages you wish to quote, when you get to the "last" quote you want to post, click quote. All the quotes you want will show up in your reply box.....easy squeezy
And if you want to quote just a snipet of what they said, you can delete everything else in their post and just leave the words you want.
Or you can do this too.......LOLz I used to Moderate a Vbulletin message board, picked up a few tricks.......

Bleep, my avatar is my bird Eliot (R.I.P., but I'm still obsessed with him), and he's sitting on my hand. He's not drinking out of anything, guess my thumb justs looks really waxy. Huh. He was my constant companion for 10 years, and I miss him like heck.
Jittery legs really suck, but restless legs is when your leg muscles do really strange things when you're trying to fall asleep, and the only thing that helps is moving them. For me, it feels like a gradual tightening of the muscles that gets more and more uncomfortable until I, no kidding, kick something or punch my legs. It used to be a big problem if it happened when I was blacked out. I would kick the wall next to the bed while I was asleep until someone would hold my legs down to make me stop. Like I said, it had been gone for a while, but it's messing with me bad since starting the bac.
Ruby, I'm gonna have to look around for some of your posts. I love the personal stuff. My boyfriend is great. He'd actually offered to start bac with me, but I told him I wanted to try it first, figure out the cost, side effects, etc. Wouldn't that be a cute thread though? Redhead, it's MAY, and I'm wearing a down coat and gloves! No fair! Yeah, still thinking about the piracetam, but I know what you're saying about taking so many things. I was nervous about taking bac with my neurontin, but my dad assured me people with hardcore MS do it all the time. Hmmm. Picked up some ginkgo in the meantime. The fogginess hasn't become much of an issue yet. Would like to read more about your bac journey. Everything takes so long to do on this damn phone!"Yet someday this will have an end

Weird Windy - I'm sure I remember reports of people getting sneaky prescriptions of baclofen from their GP's, claiming restless leg. Sorry, I got the two leg things confused.
Redhead's journey is definitely worth a read! It can be found here...

Morning, (for me) newbies and others!
What's news?
I love the bird, Windy. I had a bird thing for awhile. I bought one, against my better judgement, from a baaaad pet store. Got the poor thing home to it's luxurious new digs and it was terrified and completely discombobulated and morose. I thought maybe it missed it's friends, so I thought I'd get another. Then I realized that I was opening the door to a whole 'nother obsession and that the two dogs were not helping the situation and that having a bird sanctuary was not in the best interests of anyone and furthermore that I knew nothing about birds and wasn't even sure how to pet them! sooooo... the bird went back to the store and it's friends, and I moved on to plants or something.
I wanted to pop in and say hello and that I'm thinking about you guys. You know it makes me very nervous when it gets too quiet around here. (Evey, Zephra, where are you?)
Windy, if you are indeed in the windycity, I think your hometown may be host to a bunch of bac'd out mwo-ers in October. That's the goal, anyway. Despite the fact that redthread and bruunhilde would have us in Mexico.
Lots of love, peeps!

A shout out to the newbies and titraters whom I haven't kept up with, too.
Cher and Joanie. Sassy and Lady. Rudy and Taw. I'm going to sign off and remember 17 others that I've left out, so let this be a general huuuulllllllloooooooo!
I am actually reading, and my pm box is actually available, and I'm here if you need me. Sorry if it seems I'm not paying attention. I am actually reading just about everything, still. And sorry, too if this is all out of left field and noone really cares. :H

Hey all! Yeah, ne, I was a bird nerd growing up and bought my eliot hand raised from a breeder. Poor little guy saw a lot in his time, between the drinking and unhealthy relationships I was in. You know those letters they make you write in rehab? In my early 20's I actually wrote one apologizing to him. He was a smart little guy with plenty of attitude to boot.
Bleep, it would make sense to prescribe bac for restless legs, since it's a muscle relaxant, right? But I'm just weirdly sensitive to it. It's cool, dug out my old homeopathic "restful legs" (clever, right?), and I'm doing ok.
Up to 70 mg bac! Seems to be going fine, but no significant reduction in my drinking so far. But, then again, I haven't really tried.
Took an hour and a half, but I read all of redhead's thread the other day. Wow. Some really inspiring stuff! Hope I have what it takes to follow through with bac. I was told by a doctor I would be dead by 30 if I contitnued to drink. I'm 31 now, and just Not Dying is no longer enough. I want to live!"Yet someday this will have an end

Oh, and I'd love to meet up with MWOers in october! My dad, who's in recovery via AA, is very supportive of my bac taking, and is thrilled I'm on here. His attitude is that community and support are essential to quitting, however you go about it. Hopefully by october, I'll be af, and, dare I say it?, nicotine free as well!"Yet someday this will have an end

That's so cool about your dad, Windy. I love it! And the bird thing... There is, as is the Ne-way, so much more to my own fleeting (flitting?) bird obsession.
I became convinced that I should adopt an abandoned parrot! You know, the big ones that live as long as we do? We have a bird-rescue organization about 5 hours from here in the middle of nowhere, and they insist that you volunteer there once a week for months before you get to take home one of the featherless-stressed-to-the-hilt squawkers to love and care for until (your) death does you part...
So Ed bought me a ginormous cage, with all the accoutrements, and I proceeded to call the rescue-guy regularly, usually when I was drunk (?!) to talk about plans for adopting a new project. Hay-zeus, I'm really thankful that he let me down easy when he discovered that I smoke, use(d) teflon pans, have two large predatorial-type dogs, and was at that time living in a tiny apartment in the city. Whew.
Anyway. Hope it's a good day for you!
