      Welcome Facade and Timber Tim!!

Facade, your sentiments are shared by me and probably by many others. It is really amazing that you are able to place an order over the internet and receive Baclofen in South Africa. Best of luck to you!

Timber Tim, Congrats on reaching indifference! The decision to make the 50mg bump up was very smart. If I had to do it all over, I would definitely have titrated up with greater increases.

WCL, I would definitely suggest writing out a schedule of how you are going to increase and trying to stick to it as best as you can. I dragged my feet so much and it would have been really helpful to see it all in writing.

Sorry Bleep and Ne for being so late in responding. I started having pretty severe side effects and was deciding to either go up or taper down. Thanks Ne for always telling me to stay with the bac, it really paid off. My package got stuck at the post office (long story) so the decision was no longer mine to make. Luckily, I was able to retrieve it from the post office without having to go down by too much.
      …....

I was really prepared to go down to try and save myself at work. I realized I had a few weeks where I would be safe at work, so I decided to increase the bac. I’m taking around 185-190mg of Baclofen.
      ........

      I have reached indifference.

The alcohol has been in the fridge all week and there is no urge to drink it. I feel awesome.

Thank you Ne and Bleep. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. You both are true examples of what it means to pay it forward. I cannot put into words how thankful I am.

I feel a complete disconnect from the person that I used to be. A complete disconnect with the loss of control. I know that I would never be able to order Baclofen online like I did that day, so for that I am grateful.

I really am at a loss of words. I know this much is true

                    Evey that is awesome!

You give me hope too. I feel very close. I just posted on my thread about 'how I will know when I get there'. Were you close for a while? Did it happen right after you bumped your dose?

Anyway... Congrats. Can't wait to join you!

Evey, that's brilliant! It really is a strange thing, but at the same time it feels very right, doesn't it? Like it should have felt all those stupid years, but didn't.

You've really made my day, and thank for your kind words, but it was YOU who did it, and you who deserve the accolades! So congratulations!

Now you enter the even murkier world of what to do after indifference. I'd recommend staying at your current dose for a good while. You should adapt fairly soon, and notice the SE's will abate. If they don't, a good trick I have found is to go higher, get some new SE's for a few days, and then drop back to your dose. The reduction seems to make all the difference. The trick here is to experiment and see what works best for you. If you go too low and start fancying a pint, panic not, you just go back up. It's that simple.

                      Fantastic stuff!

                        Evey,

You've put a great big smile on my fae - that is fantastic news.

Welcome to freedom. Now you need to decide what you're going to do with it :H:H:H

Good luck on the journey - it actually only starts here. Taking baclofen and reaching indifference was only the start of it. At least, it was for me, after almost 20 years of alcoholism.

Welcome to the other side! It's a lovely view, isn't it?

I noticed you were jumping in and helping others! You write beautifully and your thoughts are cogent and clear. (and my experience is that they just keep getting more cogenter and simply clearer. :H)

Thanks Everyone! Reading everyone's posts really made me smile and it made my day too.

Lady, Thank you for writing. You were always right about Baclofen. Your words are always spot on.

Just wanted to point out, that I responded to Sprat's question on his own thread. Didn't want another person coming along and thinking that I never replied.

Bleep, I edited my post like I usually do. I started to list out the side effects and the post was getting long and boring like usual. I deleted things that should have been kept in there. I think/know the side effects were caused (at least partially) by a sleep aid. The lure of getting 8-10 hours of sleep was too much but I have started to cut back. It was causing the worst muscle rigidity and then also sometimes muscle spasms, it happens to be a known side effect of the other medication. Also, it was causing intense cranial pressure. After cutting back on that medication, the side effects are much improved.

I do eventually need to go down some on my dose. My quality at work is terrible and very soon it will become a crucial time where mistakes will make or break me. That being said when I went down on my dose; I had a night where I drank more than I wanted to. So tapering down, will have to be done with careful consideration.

Ne, Thank you. It means a lot coming from you. I will have to take your word for it at this point. In a few days, I plan on posting in the thread that you created. Do I have it right that you wrote a book?

Zephra!!!! I was wondering where you were. I have been thinking about you. I was going to wrote a post and include a shout out to you, I forgot to include it last time. I started to get intense pressure all throughout my skull and my teeth clenching increased, it made me think about the symptoms that you were experiencing. Are you feeling any better? How are things coming along for you?

Hi MartyA if you are reading this. If you have questions, I think this is a great place to get them answered.
