    Baclofen and SSRI's?

Does anyone know if these 2 are okay to take together? I have a srip for Cymbalta that worked real well in the past but not sure if I should mix with bac.

Don't know. When I did bac without the AD, I went off the deep-end, but other circumstances played into it. It took a good month of being off the bac and on the AD before I felt much relief. Then the circumstances changed . . . so I don't know what was what in all that.

I do think that either the bac or the being without alcohol had a whole lot to do with having a very hard time with depression, circumstances not withstanding. I'm a little afraid to wade into it all again.

      Baclofen and SSRI's?

Since an SSRI works on serotonin and baclofen works on a different neurotransmitter, GABA, then at first blush there shouldn't be any blatantly obvious concerns. It's pretty common for folks who suffer depression with anxiety to be prescribed both an SSRI and a GABA-enhancing med, like Klonopin, Xanax, Valium, etc.

I would be very wary about this in actual practice, however. If you're trying to work up a baclofen titration along with another med, you may invite a double-whammy of side effects, and it'll be hard to tease out which drug is causing which effect. I am withdrawing from a high dose antidepressant (Pristiq) as I'm ramping up Baclofen, and it's hard for me to know what's making me light-headed and unable to concentrate. Add in that I'm still drinking, and it's a fine sort of mess I would not recommend to others.

I believe Cymbalta affects other neurotransmitters besides serotonin (a "multiple reuptake inhibitor") but it doesn't touch GABA so that point is academic.

Maybe others can chime in to correct or clarify.

c0ffee, this is the data sheet provided by one of the bac manufacturers https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...ml#post1067519

SSRI's aren't mentioned as interacting with bac, but then again they probably haven't tested them with high dose bac, so ...
