    Info on University of Penn

This video is a clip from an HBO documentary on addiction where I first learned about baclofen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byain0Vo5mo[/video]]HBO VIDEO

The lady in the video, Dr. Childress, is associated with the University of Pennsylvania.

Does anybody know the dosages they use or what their titration schedules are? Any information on this program would be useful.
Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.

      pbarE,
I just received disc 2 of HBO addiction series from Netflix. I think there are 4 DVDs. will watch it tonight after work.
I think the video you posted is the only bit on BAC. it was on disk one. minimal exposure for BAC.
you know, there was a producer on MWO awhile back who was interested in personal stories to possibly be in her documentary on BAC. as I recall she was given the cold shoulder by MWO'ers. perhaps because of anonymity concerns. i'll see if I can find her and get her to post again. cheers. gratitude

That was Danielle. She lost her funding. Her producers wanted a to show Baclofen as some sort of joke so she decided started looking for other funding. She was pretty glum last time I spoke to her last September. It showed that she had integrity. She also said someone else was going to make a film.

I think someone will eventually. I think a film about Ameisen would be good. You could make a good book out of the postings here.

            Olivier Ameisen

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

I'm not sure about integrity. I shared a lot with her (I believed) in confidence to assist that film. I almost broke my back trying to set things up between her and my consultant (OK, an exaggeration, but I did almost lose my consultant and with that my expert advice and, more importantly, my prescription for Baclofen).

Her email address still works (I guess it's been taken over by someone else now as it's still active but she never answers, and I have lots of confidential discussions with her on there, so I'm extremely unhappy about that). Her skype doesn't work anymore.

If anyone knows how to contact her please let me know.

              Integrity? Pfft.

After my experience with this I'd urge people not to share too much or put too much effort into helping people like this, even anonymously. Badly burned here by this seemingly very well-intentioned lady.
I don't come here much anymore but you can always mail me at rotunda 2000 at hotmail dot com (no spaces). Might be able to help with Bac emergencies

                eight,
how are you supposed to know if someone has integrity? you gave it a shot. bravo.
I would encourage everyone to help anyone who is working toward getting the word out. I'm not sure how to tell who is " a person like this". at least at first. now if she came back on MWO we know. thanks.

Yeah. I tried to reach Danielle recently, too. I was sort of figuring that it was unlikely she checked that email because it seemed (at the time) like it was dedicated to us. What a great project that would be, though, huh? Wish I had some experience with that sort of thing...

Bac to PbE's link, has anyone reached out to Dr. Childress? I think I might try if noone else has. I wonder if she continues in that line of research?

I haven't watched the special in ages, but from what I remember it was pretty tepid. Lost among all of the other things that are going on in the field/industry.
