    Cindi and Baclofen

Guys, I took my Baclofen today with lunch and had to come back to the hotel Dry heaves.

    Damn!!

Any more suggestions? I have drank an entire bottle of Maalox in the last three days and taken the maximum dosage of Previcad.

It won't work if I keep throwing up. Clients hate it when I do that.

    I did that last week.

    Help!!

    Love,
    Cindi

      Cindi and Baclofen

Oh, and I work fine under Baclofen. I makes me tired but so did drinking. I was drinking 24/7 before. Clients never figured it out.

I worked two weeks ago in a complete blackout at the client.

I just need some options to help me with the stomach issues.

      They are not pretty.

      Love,
      Cindi

ps, I had gastric-bypass a few years ago, so my stomach is extra sensitive. Vodka and wine doesn't help it, either.

lol (I hope your clients at least appreciate your sense of humor.)

But, flying in the face of the latest fad here, dare I quietly suggest you take it a tad slower...?

(perhaps a better option than puking on your clients and throwing the bac out the window?)

That's also the only thing I can think of that might make a difference. A change in the dose. Hopefully it is just this particular level that is giving you this very unfortunate side effect.

On a side note, I think your attitude is brilliant. If anything is going to make this possible, it will be that, keep it up Cindi.

                Thanks, Beatle.

I WILL win and so will you.

The throwing up is a bit disorienting but I can deal with it. I am a GB patient after all.

                I am used to it.

Clients, however, are a bit discombulated by the woman in the room gagging and choking.

I just need to figure out how to make it all work.

                I can do this.

                I do many harder things.

                Love,

Cindi - I just have to say how much I admire your courage and determination. Like the others, I hope that this time you manage to get that beast off your back. Best of luck...:huggy

Cindi, I wish you the best of luck in dealing with your alcoholism, but I read your symptoms from taking baclofen.... and it concerns me. Diapers and dry heaves with 40 mg??? I would say that if you aren't doing this under a doctors supervision then you should not take it. I've said this before that baclofen is not for every single person. NO drug is... and I worry when somebody has extreme side effects.

                      Please be careful.

                        I know, Chi,

However I am a determined cuss.

I had gb 6 years ago.

I am lucky to be alive today. When I started driinking again, it was all on.

I keep my job purely because, oh nevermind.

I so want to titrate up on Bac. I do.

                        It makes my stomach heave.

                        Do I have another option?

                        Darn,

                          Cindi,

I may be rare but, I have never, ever, had an issue with stomach problems on Bac. Yes, it may be the GB or the fact I have an iron stomach but I have also heard it could be the brand you are on.
Hang in there and keep up the great attitude. Attitude and perseverance needs to be our vehicle through this ride!:l

                            Cindi,

Is there any chance you are going through withdrawal and that's why you have dry heaves? Nausea doesn't generally happen on Baclofen. The only other thought I had was maybe it was the combo of Baclofen and other meds you are taking. I would call Dr. Levin ASAP tonight between 7:00-9:00 CST and ask him. He is so wonderful. I sent you a PM, too. Hang in there, honey....I'm pulling for you.:l

Several others have reported nausea early on. I think they all quit bac as a result. Then they quit posting, too.

I think Rusty's take on this is probably spot on as regards alcohol withdrawal. Going from imbibing massive quantities of alcohol 24/7 to AF would definitely give you withdrawal symptoms (nausea being a very usual one), and not to be a fear-monger (I have been chided for mentioning this before), one of the withdrawal symptoms (from high levels to cold turkey) is seizures. It happened to me, so don't everybody jump on me for taking away momentum here. I am seriously, seriously concerned about this issue. (Although Cindi has been through this enough times to know what she is doing (I think). Plus, she is so smart (but dang, that doesn't always apply to our strategy regarding alcohol for any of us, does it?))

As Bleep mentioned, taking it with food helps for some, but I guess that's not a relevant option for Cindi (vis a vis her clients' aversion to regurgitation).

This is what Dr. L said to me (about other meds... he told me flat out to stop them-- ones for anxiety and sleep, that is, not the one I need for my thyroid.) I will post about my meeting with him on my thread soon... I mean it :blushing:

                                Hi Cindy
I agree that withdrawals can definately cause most bad symptoms, but also wanted to mention that I have taken campral and found it did help me in being AF for a while, it did take the edge of my cravings, although did not stop them entirely, it definately helped me cope, maybe this would be worth looking into combining with bac to help you get some AF time and get feeling better
