    Drugs forum and Baclofen

Thought this might be of interest.

Experiences - Baclofen is very, very cool - Drugs Forum

A bit of information about Baclofen for benzo withdrawal. This website is mainly frequented by people who are looking for highs rather than getting off drugs.

MWO forum gets a mention there in relation to Baclofen for alcoholism.

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

I have tried Naltrexone but would just drink more so i would feel drunk. Campral did nothing for me. Am now on the Kudzu and L_Glutamine but still drinking 3 glasses of wine and need to acheive abstinence. Does Baclofen have side effects?

It does stop alcohol cravings. It is not a gimmick. People here are now effectively "cured" of alcoholism. Get involved in this forum and you will get a lot of advice on how to make it work for you.

And, you will make friends here.

Yes it does have side effects. It was not designed for alcoholism and it is a potent "brain" drug. You will be changing the way your brain works so you will find it has side effects. That is why the treatment has to be slowly increased over as long as it takes to achieve the "switch". It is no walk in the park but the end result is worth whatever you put into it.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck and best wishes.

Thanks for those two links Otter. Very useful and interesting information. Some of the people on that forum could have been doctors or scientists by the sound of it...they take their 'hobby' of drugs very seriously!

Hi Otter, I checked out the drugs forum and thought "how strange are these people with all their drugs and experiments", I have just realised I'm the one who has drank around a litre of vodka a day for years, wrecking my life and nearly killing myself on lots of occasions. Some people probably think thats a bit strange too.

Yes, I just wonder how many of them are there because they think they have a problem and want to get better and how many are there because they think that taking the drugs is making them better. I could not figure it out. It is a huge forum but there doesn't appear to be much active posting like here.

              They need Baclofen!
