UK, this isn't really the place, but you don't have a thread as such... How are you finding life generally at the moment? Have you reached a compromise with baclofen as a whole, and are coping? I hope so.

Even though I haven't been drinking the last few days, I haven't been able to work out at all on Bac -- I used to go twice a day. Sounds hard to believe right now that I could be 99% Side Effect free at high doses of bac. I have been foggy, stupid, and acting like a really weird floaty version of Garey Busey in general.

I'm ok but had a break through this week after Charlie posted. We are both binge-drinkers, although I have drank daily for extended periods at certain points. We've both identified the fact that high-dose baclofen doesn't enhance our lives. My theory is that because we have sober days frequently anyway, that the baclofen side effects spoil that fairly 'normal' AF time. Whereas for a daily drinker any let up/reduction in alcohol intake, even with baclofen SEs feels fantastic.
Charlie has consulted Dr Chick and he's trying Naltrexone with low dose Baclofen. I have an appointment with Dr(he's actually Professor) Chick next week, and he will prescribe these for me. Charlie has only spoken on the phone and he can only prescribe in person.
Quite a bit of this is on Charlie's thread.

That's actually a very astute point, and I think that you/Charlie are onto something. Thanks for sharing.
I'm also a binge drinker....but also a daily one :S
Thanks again for the helpful insight,
Paul.

Thanks
This is what was so frustrating when others on Baclofen were telling me the SEs were better than drinking, no for me they weren't. Not because my drinking wasn't bad enough - hell I've tales that would make your hair curl, as bad or worse than most.

Sounds like your combo therapy is a good plan, though- though for my profile I still hold out hope for Baclofen.

See this is my problem: which is that I have always had AF days anyway, and most times very effortlessly, especially if I keep up my Gym routine --
and the SEs are spoiling my AF days now. But what I was trying to do by taking Bac was get rid of any 'cravings' once and for all. But its almost like Bac has replaced my gym routine.
So this is something I need to weigh and figure out. I'm waiting for Lo0p to get back to me on a couple of things, so until then I'm just hanging in there.------------------------------------------------------------

Ukblonde;1098261 wrote: That's ok. At first it sounded a bit stupid to dose just before training, but I found taking it when sedentary just made me more likely to fall asleep or become demotivated.
Anyway it works and I'd not had any sleepy phases today as a result.
I'll try that.
Also on low - very low - dose of bac (50mg) and Nal - although the French way : 50mg everyday an hour before the usual craving hour.
Works fine for AL but I feel demotivated and have a very hard time concentrating.
However took my bac 10mg every 3 hour, so I'll try 2 doses of 25mg before working out.
Thanks UK

My side effects didn't go away and I was at 180mgs for around 4 weeks. I just felt wierd every day and was just ill all the time, it affected my hair and skin too. I feel much better at around 100-125mg but I'm drinking again. Rock and a hard place comes to mind.

UK,
Rock and a hard place comes to mind.
I remember your swim in the cold canal a couple years back. I remember you taking all your hard earned savings to go to rehab and it breaks my heart that you are still fighting so hard.
But, like the athlete you are, you are still fighting.
You will win. :l

I look forward to following the progress of you and Charlie on the Nal/Bac. I think you are both going to do well on that combo.

Yes. Seriously.

What do you do that requires you to stay fit?
And do you mean fit like military style (doesn't matter as much how much bodyfat you carry you just need to be able to keep going strong) or fit like aesthetically?
Are you a firefighter or a model or what?:nutso: I take pride in my humility :nutso:
