    Baclofen and Exercise / Gym

Alexan, You need to get some medical help and be honest about what you have been doing. Baclofen is a powerful drug and really not to be taken without medical supervision. I am worried for your welfare. Please just get some medical advice. It affects your central nervous system and can be a major worry if not taken correctly.

      Missy.

You don't take bac. You haven't researched bac. Why are you giving advice about taking bac?

      Thoughtfully,

In addition, I think we've pretty much established that there is not a lot of medical knowledge, much less "help" to be had when it comes to taking high-dose-bac to find indifference from alcohol.

Ne, I have read everything that has been written about baclofen, both on this forum and everything regarding this medication regarding medical trials etc etc etc. How dare you say that because, I don't take this medication, I don't know anything about it .My sister and I researched everything that we could about this medication, with no bias at all. I have even recommended this forum to others considering taking Baclofen.
Not any more. Do you understand that there is no way we can screen people who take advice from this forum? Vulnerable, drunk, uneducated, desperate, impoverished, mentally impaired, mentally ill, etc.etc
I know about the medical professionals and big pharmacueuticals without fear nor favour for our wellbeing.. from my own experience. I have, I know, been really all over the place posting here, mostly drunk unfortunately, but still sober enough to to realise a dangerous path when I see it. Ne, its a powerful drug and one, still not, deemed safe at high levels for use in alcoholism.......yes I know about the trials re MS. you cannot screen people medically on a discussion forum, and there lies the danger.

            Missy,

            Does this describe you?

Vulnerable, drunk, uneducated, desperate, impoverished, mentally impaired, mentally ill, etc.etc
If so, then I will ignore your advice.

I think what she is trying to say is that it's impossible to know what is going on for Alexan, we only have his typings.

He obviously needs to back down on his dosing and stay steady for 3 or 4 days until the side effects calm down. Even staying at what he is at for 24 hours would be an improvement.

He says he was a binge drinker, from his mumbled most recent post it sounded as if his drinking was/is very similar to mine. So when does back down I think he could still find it a little strange at first because it's going to affect his every day, but with time they'll settle down. At the moment he doesn't have a chance like this.

                  Missy,

That is how you described the posters here. Are you above all that?

I agree, UKB. He doesn't have a chance on the path he is on. I appreciate your positive feedback to the issue Alexan is dealing with.

                  I don't appreciate the negative.

My daddy used to sing a song to me when I was young, it was based in English grammer but it applies here, "acccentuate the positive decentuate the negative and don't mess around with mister inbetween."

                      Yes,

                      We aren't in his house.

                      Go figure.

He calls out to us for help.

                      We respond in the positive.

                      You respond in the negative.

                      WTF???

No Cindi, i speak from a realist point of view. I cannot and will not , nor dare have the audacity to encourage people to take a powerful medication on a chat forum. End of story. Sorry, I know it has huge benefits for some battling alcoholism but at the end of the day, unfortunately, as with many medications, we are just going to have to bide our time. Honestly Cindi, I hate saying this, I have fought medical people all my life, have no time for them at all. But all I have tried to say since coming here, is a warning to respect what the newcomers see. A miracle drug ? To alcoholics, that is so enticing.............a very charismatic cheerleader......talk about up titrations and down titrations , and everything in between. Cindi I hope to God it is the "miracle" we have all been hoping for........but, like everything in life, it has to be tempered with realism.

And I fear for the newcomers most.

This is the important part, at least to my eyes:

Alexan, you are not yet out of the woods with the risk of withdrawal. It's delayed. Pay attention to your body. Getting a bit of medical advice is actually a good idea, but you if start to feel jittery and irritable, be aware that withdrawal could still hit you now, even a day from now.

Let's not have any brain damage on the forum today, eh? :l

Hey Missabby, since you've read all of the literature, I'm having a hard time getting a hold of 2 print only articles:

Do you think you could scan your copies and upload them to the forum, or at least give us a synopsis of the relevant info, that is more than the abstract.
