Right on man! Take advantage of it and take it easy. I'd say keep some nal handy if you ever notice yourself falling back into old habits.

It's good to hear from you and it's great to hear that you're doing so well!!

Is it possible that somewhere through all that Baclofen schedule, some kind of permanent changes were made in my brain? I have to say that it is the most curious thing. Its almost "normal". On more than one occasion, I have literally found myself "chasing the dragon", running after that "high", by gulping shots and downing drinks but never achieving any euphoria - only getting "woozy" - and instead ending up with a worthless blackout to be realized the next day.
I definitely think so. I only take bac, not nal, but I tried forcing some beers down the other night and it did nothing for me at all besides make me drowsy...no high or rush at all. I'm sure I'll miss it at some point, but for now it's nice knowing that drinking won't get me right anymore.

Good to see things are working out for you man.

        Thanks Loop and Pete.
Pete, the only thing is that I'm feeling like this and I'm NOT ON ANYTHING ( : / ?). That's the kicker here. Most people start craving alcohol again once they stop the Bac. I'm still waiting for 'Bleep' to halt his Bac routine as he tries to make Babies and then report back here as to how his results pan out; as he is the only person I am aware of who was extremely successful on the Bac and was also wanting to test out a Baclofen-free period as well.

Good for you Alexan, and nice to hear you finding a solution.

Your comment about Nal - I am simply not prepared to risk the devastation a full on binge could bring to my life. Not prepared to go back to what it was like before and this is why I never drink without having taken Nal first of al.

            Hey Alexan,

Great to hear that it's worked out so nicely for you! And very interesting that you're no longer taking anything, and the effect is remaining. Perhaps it's worth an experiment! I'll let you know! It would only be an experiment for myself though - the baby is already on the way...

How long have you been off baclofen?

You've certainly got me thinking though...!

                Hi Bleep,
First of all, congratulations! Great news.

I have been off the Bac since somewhere in the middle of May -- around the 17th of that month.
I would love to hear your thoughts if you experiment... I keep wondering if I'm just imagining things and that there couldn't possibly be any scientific cause or reasoning behind these findings since I'm not taking anything -- that there could be other positive life factors involved that don't make drinking very attractive -- but this came first, and its been going on almost three months now, so there has to be something to it. I certainly hope its true.

Haha. Thanks Loop... And don't worry, even though I'm not taking it I'm hoarding everything! ...Both the Baclofen and the Naltrexone -- I go and get all my refills regardless and have an emergency supply bac-ed up just in case. :H

UKBlonde, what's your Naltrexone dosing schedule? It seems you are taking one every day in the afternoon? Does that mean you might take one and not end up drinking at all too?

Its strange but I seem to have gone in the opposite direction from where I was when I first started taking Naltrexone... I actually tend to drink more now if I pop a pill and I wonder why !?

Maybe its because the alcoholic brain is searching for that "euphoria" its not getting??

                          Hi Alexan,

Sorry, I somehow missed your reply the first time around. Thanks! Looking forward to the arrival!

I'll definitely let you know, should I decide to do it. It's certainly tempting, and if it doesn't work, the option of just going straight back on it is always there.

And given how little we know about this stuff, and how it works, there could well be a principle we are unaware of.

                            Hi Alex
Spikes in drinking are common when taking Naltrxone. You are right in that the brain is searching for it's "euphoria". Once it realizes that's not going to happen (trigger extinguished) the numbers drop. It's all a part of the procees and it's why people start having doubts that it's not working, but really it is.

This a pic of my graph on TSM. My units have dropped wks 14 & 15, but I suspect I will have them spike back up because I'm still early in the process.
