    TimberTim is in the House!

    Fed Up

I posted this on the Baclofen Forum yesterday:

    All,

I can not see how this is sustainable. Call me a wimp, but I am having a hard time taking all these pills. I'm not sleeping. I'm short tempered. I can't keep my eyes open during the day. When I take a nap I can't even sleep. And it PISSES ME OFF!

I plan on titrating back down to the low hundreds, maybe even 80mg. I'm guessing that a reverse titration of about 20mg ever three to 7 days would be appropriate.

      Hiya Timber Tim!

Your pic would suggest you're from Minnesota, but I forget the legend's geography. Anyway, welcome aboard!

I simply LOVE this forum, and although I am NOT presently AF, this community is the most warm, non-judgmental and nurturing that I have found. (Working my way back to you guys...couple o' days and I'll be AF for (hopefully) a very long stint!)

P.S. I pass this forum on to my alcohol-addicted friends/family at every opportunity. The phone's ringing...one of my friends or family may eventually pick it up. Let's hope!

P.P.S. I learned my lesson on using electric hedge clippers while drunk about 8 weeks ago. Krazy-Glue? works wonders when you don't have insurance.

            Hey, Tim.

Hoooold on there brother. Check your email. Also, enabling your private messages will help, then people can reach out to help when they don't want to post.

Also, what you're experiencing is very very common, unfortunately.

              Tim

You could throw in the towel, but it's a bit of a waste of the last 3 months isn't it? What was all that shit you went through for if you weren't going to see it through?

Man, it's up to you, you know what's best for you, but personally, if I was in your position, I'd want to get this thing done and done as quick as possible. I would go with my earlier suggestion, take a couple of weeks off, go up in 50 increments, ride out the SEs in private and try to get myself switched in the shortest time possible.

I am from Minnesota. Born and raised. However, I prefer a warmer climate with more sun. So, the southwest is were I am now.

I'll consider it. Private message is turned on, I think.

                    Hey Tim,

This is one of the problems with a gentle titration and a high indifference level - you end up buzzing for a long, long time and it can get painful. Before you throw the towel in, take a look at the positive effects that you have experienced from baclofen. What are you drinking at the moment When did you last have a drinking fuck-up? A blackout?

If you absolutely can't stand it, the do as Murph suggests. Just ramp up your dose and see what happens. It would be a bloody shame to waste all this hard work when you must be so close.

                      Tim....

I too suffered from the sleep thing VERY bad! I went back down and felt like I lost a lot of time I had put into this...I now take Calms Forte, 3 before bed and that helps...Not a good solid 7 hours but not the waking up every hour for an hour!

                      Might be worth a try...

Okay, Okay. Enough of you have hung the proverbial carrot in front of me that I had better stay the course and reach the goal of indifference. Yesterday was just a bad day. Today is a little better, so I will stay at 240 and see how it goes tomorrow.

For sleep I have ambien, Lunesta, melatonin, Nux vomica, lemon balm, and ice cream. Maybe I'll take one of each. Just kidding. I took three lemon balm last night and I was sleeping well except that one of my dogs is ill and needed some attention. I'll figure it out.

                        Thanks for all your support!

                          Work It slow

                          Hey Tim,

I just began working with an MD who knows the program and he has designed a 20MG per week increase over the next eight weeks. We are starting with 10 mg/ day. I gotta tell you he warned me the first week would knock me on my butt, I figured, wtf, I am a strong dude I can handle this. It did knock me horizontal and because I underestimated the potency almost cost me a a major client relationship.

I was sitting in my client's office this morning, three days after starting the program, with alternating thoughts between "do you mind if I put my head down on your desk and go to sleep or how about I just throw up on your desk?" Luckily, this was a long term client and I talked my way out of it.

I realized today the importance of slowly building into this gift!

                          I hope this helps!!

Man, you aren't kidding. Yesterday was really bad, probably the worst I have had. I had a company conference call in the morning. We were using skype, but without the camera. I was so glad that I could keep my eyes closed during the meeting and no one would notice. But today is a bit better. Go figure.

That's the way it is, Timberman. (sounds like a character in the Wizard of Oz. I kinda like it.)

Glad you're sticking with it. It always helped me to touch base, or to put it all out there. Especially when I felt like I couldn't take another minute.

We have a resident sleep expert, another one, and I'll give her a shout out and see if she's got a minute to weigh in on the various sleep aids, if you'd like. (oooohhhh, beatle, where are you?)

Congrats D! The man rocks on. And on and on and on.
(btw, there is a group of us that are going to be in the Chicago area over the weekend of October 10th. To raise a glass (of tea, maybe, and booze, too, probably! :H) Hope you'll think about joining us. You can hang out here a while and see if you like us, first. (You too, Tim, of course! D happens to be in CST already!)

xo and :ls to you both. I love the newbies!
