thanks bleep, for clearing that up. the same question came up at school the other day, as i wondered if i was mis-informing a student. no shocker: i sneak english vocab and grammar lessons into my spanish class.
i never have the not-tired thing at night. i sit up with my head lolling at the computer, eyes with toothpicks and rolling around, but i don't have the reasonableness to fall into bed. in the morning, though, after one of those too-late nights, i can lose my tired (today is a case in point). unfortunately, this seldom happens on a day that i have to go to work.

So someone else could lay you down and lay you. Or you lie down and get laid. Either way, you're gonna get laid.

Morning, Tim. There is often frank and bawdy discussion in these here threads. Unfortunately it's hard to filter, sometimes. I hope your wish will be respected.
That said, there are some threads where you will be really appalled and uncomfortable.
Bac to the point. How did you sleep?

But the tomorrows that follow? Yowza, Tim. They rock. I'm really glad you're a part of it for me.
xxoo, my friend,

Feel pretty good today. I had that frickin' bac brain mind trip this morning where I would have sworn it was 6:30 am only to find out when I turned on the coffee machine that it was 5:30am. Arrgh. Well, I did sleep well between 11:30pm and 5:30 am. So, 6 hours is pretty good, eh? (that's a Minnesota term, and certainly a Canadian term; sounds like "A". I guess because the Stanley Cup is on I find myself using it more often)
Any who...I forgot where I was....Oh yeah (bac brain), I did 300mg again yesterday. I need to test myself today to see if I switched. I stopped by a gas station yesterday to buy a diet coke, and I stopped by the beer section to see if I had any cravings. Nothing! But then, I'm not a beer guy much. You all should know that I'm a red wine guy. Or I used to be... and it large quantities. When I was bad, I used to by those cheap 1.5 liter bottles that cost about $6. Of course, I would get the one with the highest alcohol content. At that point, before bac and several years ago, it wasn't even about the taste; it was all about the drunk.
So, today I may see how I may see how I feel about buying some wine (man, I'm all over the place with my thoughts...bac brain. 8:30mg and I have already pounded 80mg)
To rap this up before I sound like a rambling idiot; I slept well, I need to test my desire for wine, and I'm going for 300mg for the 3rd day in a row.
Over and out.
ps: Sorry again to you guys for being a bit cranky. I guess I'd like to keep this a bit more...clean?

no worries tim. i get it.
wow, 300! walking right up to the booze and feeling nothing sounds good to me! something is working, huh? beer, wine, whatever it was, for people like us i think it's always mostly about the alcohol.
don't worry about the 'rambling idiot' factor; as you can see, you'd be in good company here. and, btw, you don't sound rambling or idiotic. keep sharing.
i'm happy to hear about your good night's sleep.

Morning Tim
I haven't gone back over your thread in detail but I do remember you asking at some point how to recognise the switch. I would say that what you are experiencing sounds pretty much like it!
How many days have you had AF or was that the first one yesterday? By all means 'test yourself' on the wine but remember there are more reasons to drink than just craving. Habit, triggers and habit, bloody mindedness and habit are some. Baclofen gives you back the power to make a sensible, logical decision about alcohol but the switch is not about feeling repulsed by alcohol though that can happen at6 very high doses. If you decide not to drink today, I think that that decision will become easier as your brain catches up with the 300mg that you've been taking.
Congratulations for where you've got to atm and lets hope this is the point of no return!Started Baclofen 3/9/10 Hit my switch at 250mg on 21/11/10 Present maintenance dose of 50mg : started drinking after 1 year, upped dose to 80mg and stopped: Tapered to 30mg, started 6 months of drinking, upped dose to 240mg to stop 12/7/12

Hey....I think I switched. I'm pretty sure of it, in fact.
After 3 days of choking down 300mg, I'm pretty sure that my feelings toward alcohol are...well I don't have any feelings for it anymore.
That's pretty amazing!
Okay everyone: What now?
mgHow do I get down from here?

Morning, Tim!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! That's fantastic news.
Tapering down? hmmmm. Cautiously and with forethought and a plan. Trust those of us that have gone down, only to have to go up again. It's only slightly less onerous the second time around.
If 300mg/day isn't giving you any real problems, why not stay there for a few? Days...Weeks... I can't say for sure, because now you've joined the group that is uncharted territory. Literally uncharted. What we have records of, in abundance, are people who went down too much or too quickly and relapsed.
I'm taking that anecdotal evidence to heart, myself. I'm currently staying at 220-200mg, down from 340mg, up from ~100mg, where I went post-indifference.
If 300mg is simply too much, the current suggestion in the French forum, last I heard, was to go down 10mg/week. This is the method I'll use when I go down. Some around here suggest staying at the "switch-dose" forever. :H That's just funny. At least to me.
Bottom line? The medicine is there when you need it. If you go down too far, you can go bac up. Simple solution for a complex problem.
Congrats, Tim. And good job! You rock!
L, Karen
