    TimberTim is in the House!

    Thank you! :thanks:

I think I may stay at 300 for a few more days.

I have another interesting SE to add to the list.
First, my ears. You have heard the expression "my ears are burning". Well, that's what if feels like when I am talking on the phone. It is hard to hold the phone to my ear for any length of time. And mostly on my left ear. I don't use my right ear too much as I think I have some hearing loss due to listening to too much Ted Nugent in my younger days. Ah, the classic rock....

The second is my feet. I have a moderate arch in my feet, so I wear an orthotic to help give the arch some support. However, the arch, now, seems to feel hot at the end of the day. So much so that I can't stand to have the shoes on in the evening, prefering to have my slippers on, that have no arch support at all.

    Weird stuff, eh?:anyone:

        Tim, that's fantastic news. Congratulations!

As regards going down - if you can stay on 300 for a while, I would suggest doing so. For as long as you feel comfortable. Then, as Ne suggests, cautiously and slowly drop by 10mg's a week, and see how you feel at every drop. If you suddenly find yourself in a bar, you'll know you have dropped too much, so simply go back up again and reassess.

It's a strange world out here. Uncharted territory indeed. Welcome!

I would taper down even more slowly - 5mg a week. I found that a reduction in dose took a few days to really take effect. On my 1st attempt at tapering, I did it too quickly. I didn't quite get cravings, but neither was I indifferent. I simply went back up (as Bleep suggested) and then took it more slowly.

                Oh....... almost forgot to add...

The neurologist I saw said that you can also taper by taking 5mg less on alternate days (e.g. 100 - 95 - 100 - 95), settle at the new lower dose for 3 - 4 days and then do the same again.

She had previously treated patients for spasticity, but I guess the same principle applies.

thanks bleep & tip, I'll take your advice. I'm just anxious to dump these SE's.

I thought I was over my sleep issues, but here I am. Took some Lunesta, but I am just tossing and turning, keeping my wife awake. I did have to "catch up" at the end of the night, so I probably took a few too many. Just trying to stay at 300mg. Which reminds me, time to take a few more pills. Aarrgh.

Had an interesting side effect that I wrote about ealier: hot ears. Quite uncomfortable when I am on any phone, not just my cell phone. I have been putting my glass of ice water on my ears to try to cool down, but it only helps temporarily. Maybe I should sleep outside; it's about 38 degrees F (3 degrees Celcius). Might feel good.

On a hockey note, Boston Bruin won game six over the Vancouver Canucks, so game seven, and the final game of the Stanley Cup tonight. Should be a gripper! Sorry, grew up in Minnesota and played a lot.

                  All for now...

I'd suggest that you could make a preemptive reduction in your dose right now of about 20mg because you have only recently upped your dose to 300.

Your plasma and CNS levels will not have reached full saturation yet so unless you want more baclofen than ever before in your body, I would reduce now by 20 mg and then sit at level for a while and follow the above advice.
Started Baclofen 3/9/10 Hit my switch at 250mg on 21/11/10 Present maintenance dose of 50mg : started drinking after 1 year, upped dose to 80mg and stopped: Tapered to 30mg, started 6 months of drinking, upped dose to 240mg to stop 12/7/12

Sorry for the late response but still better late than never and still worthwhile doing imo.

Hmmm. Actually what Ig says has some merit. To be honest though, I'd not muck around and I'd just stay at 300mg's for a while. The 20mg's won't much difference in the long run, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Tim, I had the ear thing, too! Drove me crazy for a long time. I kept thinking it was a sleeping-position-issue, similar to the aching shoulder and arm. I realized they were all bac related when I noticed I don't sleep on that side! And it came back when I titrated back up...

                          But it, too, goes away.

Thanks LL. I was pretty shocked. In fact, I think my words were "Holy Crap". I was also thinking about all of the side effects contained within the container. Oh no...
