It's the voices. Stewie in particular, I think. If he was mute, I would've enjoyed the show LONG ago.

Sometimes it's nice to share the remote. Sadly, my guy doesn't like flipping channels. I don't watch commercials, at all, ever. (hate being sold stuff I don't need, and find myself thinking that Super Power Detergent X will actually get the clothes cleaner and they'll fold themselves.) It used to be rather difficult, for that reason and others, namely drunkenness, to watch tv together. Now he mutes 'em before I even notice and we watch Southpark instead of some romantical shmaltz. It's a win-win. Sobriety even helps tv watching. Who knew???

Hope it's a good day, one and all. I'm off to write a letter... very much related to the theme of this thread.
    xo!

He is offering a quasi legal (at best) medical consultancy service to self-prescribing baclofen users and also selling an expensive 'book' based upon what he has read here to line his own pockets.

Now let?s contrast that with some of the posters here, like (sorry to single him out) Loop who spends hours doing shit like this: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...ead-50513.html For free. To help others like him.

Chronic alcoholics who know they need to quit but can?t are in a very
scary, vulnerable and uncertain place. For the vultures in big pharma to try to exploit this is just business. For a guy who is an alkie himself though? Sorry, that really sticks in my craw.

It is also ironic that he charges substantially more than the fully licenced Dr. L who can actually prescribe baclofen and associated other associated meds.

        Paul.

p.s. per a previous thread, the naked whining video didn't help either.
Understood Paul, thanks for the explanation.

My real reason for this post is simply to bump it. Noobs need to know the truth about 'Dr' Phil...and his disgusting naked videos.

bleep I still have several hours to kill before I can leave this place. What can you tell me to get me started searching?

Fuck it I'll just start sleuthing. Great, now I sound like a creepy old man!

Started out by going to his wikipedia site. Yes, he has a Wiki page, probably because of this: "His work on the development of the gastric balloon brought him both national and international recognition. He has appeared in numerous television and radio programmes and also in many newspaper and magazine articles."

I then learn that we should all be at his website instead, because: "His web site baclofen4alcoholism.com is recognised as one of the leading forums for sufferers of alcoholism to find out information about Baclofen."

Oh, and then I scroll back to the top and see this:

                I'm gonna enjoy this!

Dammit, I just looked, and it seems like it's gone, although I might just be looking in the wrong place. I remember it being in a pretty obscure corner last time. Basically it's him and a couple of devoted acolytes, iirc, and he guiding them through baclofen and life, when suddenly his ex (or then current) wife bursts on, under his username and accuses one of the devotees of sleeping with him. The thread continues for a few more posts, then abruptly stops. For some reason, he kept it available for viewing up until very recently. It might still be there, let's all have a hunt. I'm sure it came from one his two websites, the one Slippery mentions, or the northeast one.

I've probably got some details of that story wrong, it was a while ago that I read it. Definitely worth digging up!

I looked at the forum on his site, luckily it's moribund. He doesn't even post there, so it looks like it will die a natural death. He's obviously making enough from the other areas to ignore this. If he was interested in helping, this would be the ideal arena. Fucking tool.

So it's from his site and not MWO? I read all the posts in that site I listed, although I didn't really pay much attention to what he said because I didn't know his wife posted on his account.

Since I wasn't sure what site this crap happened on, I've also been looking at his posts from this site, from 18 months ago. It's interesting to see the progression of people listening to him at first, to people losing their patience, saying he has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (spot) on, and someone else even noticed that crap on his Wiki page.

I kind of wanted to list a bunch of his quotes and dissect his issues, but that would take too long. I will tell you though that he was made aware that he should wear a shirt in his Youtube vlogs, and he didn't know anyone would be offended.

To top it all off, he's a ghost writer. As in he gets paid by other people (so he says) to write for them. Judging by his posts, the man has little knowledge that there's a thing called grammar. He seems to be a pathological liar, delusional, manipulative, and just a terrible person. You could almost dismiss him with a laugh and shake your head, but his whole dig is to take advantage of struggling alcoholics, and rob them of their hard-earned money. The word scumbag has popped up in my mind many times over the past hour.

OMG I read this from him:

"Where did I ever say that people would be "foolish" not to "follow my recommendations?" I don't make any recommendations. I provide information, as efficently as you lot can provide it to me, which is not that efficient to be honest.[Emphasis mine]

And, my manners are absolutely impeccable.

It would be lovely to see you grace our 'thread, chat room, mail board' thingy at some stage. After all, I might well need your help one day. Only a few hours ago, an ex-MWO visitor contacted me with something that was potentially very important. That's how it works at B4a. That information won't get lost in thousands of postings on any number of threads. Once I've looked into it, it will be in the potential complications pages tonight, as long as I can get on to do it."

His next post or 2 he further encourages people to go to his site, instead.

I need to stop reading posts made by this guy, but it's so fascinating! This guy is ridiculous! OK that's it for now I'm taking a break. Bleep, what have you done to me?!

I know what you mean! You get caught up in this guy's website, your jaw getting lower and lower. Every sentence seems more unbelievable than the last! And the website design is very harsh on the eye, to say the least. Bright, jarring colours, walls of text. Horrible stuff indeed to wade through!

I wish I could remember where it was. It's a loooooong thread, with just a few people posting, then suddenly there are capital letters and accusations all over the place. You won't accidentally read past it, if you have gotten that far, I promise!

Dude, stop telling him how to improve his website. You know he'll just steal that information from here and use it for his own gain.

                          "Scumbag" seems about right Pete.

If he is unable to look at his website, and act on what he sees, then nothing we can say will influence him, I'm pretty sure!

Bleep I wanna help you find that post, as I'm sure it's as interesting as you say it is, however at this point I don't know where to look.

His website is not the traumatic place I just spent an hour on. He posted on this site in the beginning of last year, and was able to hijack a thread for many many pages. There have been 2 times in my life where my jaw has literally dropped by what someone else has said, and the last post he made on that thread was one of them. It was the most painful thing I've ever read in my life. I feel very dirty inside. I just took a shower, and am about to break out the bleach.

Here Zen - I noticed you made an intelligent observation regarding that post I'm talking about.

                                https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...116-35166.html

I can't remember where I started. I think around page 100. It's best to start around there so you can see the progression, however if you don't have the time, then just read posts 1153 and 1154. Jaw-dropping.
