Seeing the doc tomorrow
Hey Pete, you know how I know you are lying through your (fish) teeth in that story??? Because if it REALLY happened that way, Sarah would have shown up just in time to shoot the bear and the wolves and carry YOU back to camp. That's how I know you are makin' it all up.
OK - for real now - I enjoyed reading how you got more of the depth of relationships without AL in your drivers seat. I was shocked to discover just how shallow a life I was really living until I got AL out of the picture. So much of what I have had to learn in my AF life is about relationships with others. I just never learned how to do that in a healthy way.
How many fish did you catch? How big were they? (you are expected to make that up you know!)

DG, what you said describes me perfectly. The relationship thing is huge, and will be a focus for me. It would be awesome to develop healthy relationships now, as they've been missing for half my life.
I also forgot to mention that I discovered I do indeed have a sweet tooth after all. I literally ate more sweets the last week than I have in the past 2 years. It's the result of my dad being a dentist but at least I've never had a cavity. On the plus side though I plan on consuming more chocolate to help me in my AF quest. I liked what Tip said about giving your brain at least 2 months AF while the bac re wires your brain, so I'm gonna see how that goes.
On to the fish! And for your sake Brutus I won't include any more stories for everyone. Normally Cohos range around 8-30ish lbs, at least where we fish. This years run averaged a bit smaller, so we were catching around 11 pounders I think. Maybe 15. Our scale was messed up. Between 6 people we took home around 90 salmon, which was a lower number than usual because we couldn't stay at the normal cabin right by the river. I caught the biggest one, which weighed in at 107 lbs probably. Again, the scale was a little off. Here's a picture Murphy sent me of him holding up a Coho ten years ago so you can get an idea of what they look like:
I'll have the pics from my trip shortly, and if anyone wants some I'll email them to you.Knowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness.

Sooooooooo,
Murph and Pete,
Have you seen the new book that came out Friday? He had an 'affair' with a dolphin for 9 months. 9 months!
I hope he used a condom to minimize the mermaid population!
Too late or I would paste the story.
Also wondering why I stopped drinking...again:H But you know reality is so much better!

That was Murphy? Wait a second, you must be pulling my leg. Murphy is 5'1" (I don't know what that is in milligrams) and weighs 320lbs (again, who knows how many liters that holds--a lot I'm guessing) and he's vegan. Oh. and the only hair on his head is sprouting from his nose and ears.
Come to think of it I think Murphy is a woodland gnome! OMG!!! It all fits. The existence on shrubbery. The obsession with his tools. (I sort of remember, from my 12yo-girl-gnome-obsession--and yes, I was very popular in middle school--that gnomes were very randy. I'm sure it was titillating at the time.)
Excellent news on all fronts, Slipperish. Grab a hold! Life begins now!! Woop-ditty-woop, it is soooo much fun! :H:H:H (really, I mean that. I'm not being sarcastic or sardonic.)
That's a paltry fish, you caught, btw. Trout in the Elizabeth River are bigger. And they have more eyes. And breath air. And eat small children. I can't imagine why the Elizabeth River is a super-fund site that people are trying to clean up. (And I seriously, honestly, believed that you encountered a grizzly until about half way through that story. Apparently bac and indifference do not correct gullibility. )
Welcome home. You were missed.

Pete, as I've said, I like everything about you, kid or not, but what's with the new avatar? Did I miss the explanation? Even if it weren't terrifying I would tell you I like the skyline of Seattle better...

Murphy started a blog and I'm sure would love to hear from everyone. Well, almost everyone PM me for the link
Rudy, it's not scary in the slightest. It's hilarious.
I'm excited for tonight. My sister and I joined another indoor soccer league, so it'll be twice a week now It's one league higher than my Sunday team so it'll be more of a challenge. That should be good, because I scored 6 goals last week, which was my new personal recordKnowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness.
