    Baclofen Sexual (Dys)Function!

    Yeahh I was wondering if anyone taking Bac have come across any differences in their sexual function that they can pretty much attribute directly to taking Bac. I've been burned a couple of times with different SSRI's and meds in the past with this, so I'd really appreciate if anyone could let me know if I have any surprises in store:

    Decreased / Increased Sexual Appetite
    Delayed / Premature Ejaculation
    Difficulty in getting / maintaining an erection

    Anything else you can think of :P Best to be prepared! I'm sorry if the topic sounds geared towards guys, but if you ladies have anything to add then we'd be happy to hear it

    There's a few posts about this. It can affect you both ways. The one way is great fun, brace yourself. The other way sucks, brace yourself. I've had both.

    Men and women, although I've not heard of women getting the bad one.

      Wow.. I've lurked an looked around quite a bit, haven't noticed any posts! Apologies. So it's a two-headed beast? Or the SE's are the same but different people look at them in different ways?

            YES it's kills my sex drive and makes my noodle extremely limp. That's about all I can say about it. And I'm 100% positive it's that baclofen as I've recently had my testosterone checked and I'm fine there and take no other meds.

              I can unfortunately attest that women get the bad one too. Baclofen can cause either inability to climax or great difficulty in doing so. The only good thing is that it seems to fluctuate! The most frustrating damn thing is getting both SEs at the same time - increased sex drive + inability to climax! Not that it isn't fun to try!

              Switched at 180mgs of Baclofen on 1/31/11, and again on 10/8/11 at 200mgs.

                Joe, I've had both the good and the bad with baclofen. On prozac I had just the retarded ejaculation, which was annoying as hell and extremely tiring and I ended up with Popeye-esque forearms.

                    It certainly felt that way, yes. Perhaps not a horse, more a squirrel or small rabbit. But definitely dead though.

                      haha. I've been on a few SSRI's (prozac, zoloft, venlafaxine, citalopram) and all of them felt pretty much the same, had the same side effects and made me feel more ill than before I took them (even after the stated 4 weeks). A bit sick of SSRI side effects and won't take them again. Mirtazapine was the best, though thats not an SSRI as such - but it did help me sleep at night if I give it a week or so's rest every now and then.

                        Yes, it happens to women. Exact same thing but different.

                        There are MANY other causes for this, for those dealing with it long term. Blood pressure! We know that bac can affect blood pressure, either way, and that it's got a direct correlation with E.D. (not Ed. Don't even go there. He's just fine, thank you very much.) Anyway, I hope, if there is a long term thing going on, (or not) that a full physical is done to make sure everything else is ship-shape so the erm, goings on have a good chance of getting it on.
                        Not to say it's not an SE, we've established that it is, but that it's short term for the most part, right?

                          Ne, you make a good point, as always. Guys, if Mr Happy has turned into Mr Floppy, there may be a problem that goes beyond bac and you need to get yourself checked by the doc. People keep going on about using viagra, 'cos it' s fun, so you should just go ahead and get some. But before you do so, you should get checked out and I don't just mean your tackle.

                            Too much voddy, Bac and domestics.. we never have domestics! This is difficult to measure into my whole journal, but basically she says she doesn't even know if shes coming back... hrrmmm. Blur - Song 2, pouring another drink and fucking yeahhhhh empty house an strangeness!

                              So it's not normal to be at half mast all day while on Bac? I have been going like the energizer bunny myself! Did the same on GHB so I think it's normal for GABAb thingies. You tellin me that it goes downhill later?! IT's not a big deal really since I am too active anyway but I can't get why it would be that way.
