    Baclofen/Alcohol charts

    Hey guys I hate to make a new thread for this but I searched and searched and can't find this info.

    How are you guys making these nice charts that show your bac and alcohol consumption vs each other? I know I can use openoffice or excel to make regular charts but the ones I see loop making are much better.

    I think they really help you see if you are slipping or doing well over time. Day to day you can understand what is going on but the chart really opens your eyes.

    You can delete this if it is redundant.

    Wish I'd seen some charts, but I'm sure I'll find out over the course of the topic - an I'll contribute my own if it helps

      That would be cool. we could get our charts going together and see how it's going, I bet i'll be doing worse but hey it would help us move forward together.Like I said we are starting together and this would be nice to keep track of. I could probably make a web based chart generator but I'd rather do work that gets me paid if I'm able to work for right now. We should use what loop is using I guess. I am really interested in doing this as it seems sort of scientific. I didn't track my alcohol the last 4 days or so though but will at least write it into notepad or something. I didn't track it on my blog because I felt too guilty about it and my boss is reading.

        Haha I guess we're both kinda geeks with a will to help out then eh? I was thinking of a php-based dosage generator... with dates and times to take, and email / sms reminders of cost and when to re-order based on previous shipping times and sites... (kinda deep, but easily managable).. theres a bunch of ideas and things to stick on there.. gotta get all the info together though I love that sort of stuff mind and it'd keep me occupied.

        P.S, you stole my idea of an indepth blog about taking bac! But atleast you didnt register your own domain and install the software yourself :P Theres still room to manouevre!

        You're doing good for the community as a large though, and I look forward to watching and posting about your progress lemme know if you're interested in anything tech-based!

          Jeesh, I'll leave you guys to it.

          No idea about the graphs anyway, Excel can do some pretty cool shit if you can be bothered to go into any depth. I could never be bothered.

            Awww sorry, I wasnt meaning to push anyone out of the way with shitty talk. Forget I said anything and talk like you would I can't do excel at all anyways, I had to get a friend to show me how to add a few numbers together in excel not too long ago! Shitty applications they try and teach you in school that have very limited use in IT outside of secretary settings.

                Ah man!! You are into this shite as well! I love that. Yeah was thinking a PHP based site where users can login and keep a dosage/alcohol journal which is user friendly where they can enter their drinks and convert it to alcohol units and enter their baclofen dose. It would generate an image based on some graphing libraries I found. It could be used in forum signatures or blogs so everyone can keep an up to date graph where ever the image is shown.

                I would settle for just a good graphing program that makes nice images though. We just have to re upload that image all the time which sort of sucks. Maybe once I get better and am not drinking we can collaborate and make this thing. It would be for a good cause.

                Oh I just used blogger because I work in web dev for a living and didn't feel like wasting effort that could be used to make money. Also I'm broke and can't afford a domain, I'm pretty much an expert in Joomla by now and would have made it in that.. I do like Drupal but my work uses Joomla so I learned it by mistake and started to understand it so well that I like it now.

                Great to hear you are so similar and we are close to the same age(i'm 28). I'll be watching you! hehe

                ohh! and the SMS based dosage generator sounds awesome! I did read it but forgot to comment on that.

                  I use excel. '07 ish I think, maybe '08.

                  I just fiddled around with them until they looked the way I wanted them too. It's all about the chart options, data series options, line marker options and things like that. You just gotta play around with it.

                    Haha yeah, I've used Joomla a bit but not too much. I've never had any formal education or been employed web dev - but I've always poked around and tried to feel my way around it all. I'm not sure which php libraries handle graphing - kinda above my pay grade ( :P ) the only imaging library I've ever used is the GD one. This is all new though an I'm sure theres loads of ideas out there to concatenate with our own, its just a matter of putting them all together.

                    It's good you're making money from your knowledge though, hope to be in the same situation one day Until then its killing this shitty alcohol situation, going back to uni and trying to realise myself

                    Looks like we're the first to the baclofen / alcoholism devoted website idea though, so keep in touch and we can hopefully work something out for other people in need

                      Lightweights... I was 28 and drinking 80-110 drinks a week when I made the graph in my sig... :H:H

                            Wow loop they look great. I can tell you took a bit of time to get em looking that way. I only use openoffice so maybe it doesn't have as many features. I'm into open source so not using MS products.

                            I am self taught as well in many things. I'm such a geek that I created my own drugs and programmed for years and learned all I could. I think the meth was a contributing factor in that even though it is so bad to do(I never sold any drugs though!). Some how I landed many IT jobs even in big corporations because with the right meds I can seem sane and interview well. You really don't need have degrees if you have the right experience and can talk well. The money guys(CEO) will see your talent and give you a chance and pay you accordingly. Keep it up man! Even self learning = cash eventually. I bet the drinking/drugs are causing us to not live up to our full potential thus making us broke and even more addicted.

                            I work from home myself and have a few people that will pay me for that but I bet if I could start my own business or work in a office 9-5 that I wouldn't be broke.

                            We should get together and talk on the phone eventually. Right now I can't really talk to any strangers since I am a freak with panic attacks who can hardly goto the store, much less meet new people.

                            oh and yeah Loop it would be easy for us but we can't even afford domains/hosting due to our issues. I can tell he is the same hence having to sell an xbox for meds. Wasted talent. I understand it.

                            oh also another edit.. the PHP library for graphs is called pChart pChart | a PHP Charting library

                              Also loop that is a great resource if you made that. I learned a hell of a lot from it. We should make a site and SEO the hell out of it(search engine optimization, I worked at a major SEO company) We could get the word out based on internet promotion. I don't know if that is good though since the attention could cause us to have problems too.
