    Joes Baclofen Journal! (started 21/06/2011)

I actually made this last night as I was fretting about money. I mayaswell share it I guess seeing as were talking about pricing!

All of these pertain to 100 x 25mg Baclofen (apart from the re-order rates that 4rx.com advertise).

I know you get a discount from unitedpharmacies as I've ordered from them twice, but it isnt advertised. If anyone can tell me the percentage when something should cost ?15.00 but they only charge you ?12.50 - thats the discount you get from unitedpharmacies on the second order. I've only ordered from goldpharma once, no discount rates advertised but as I've only ordered once I don't know if they do 'hidden' discounts! Haven't ordered from 4rx.com yet!

I can't order from inhouse as I don't have a credit card.. not sure if I can use my visa debit card - if anyone advises me on this I'll look into it, as I used them a few years ago when I actually had a credit card and a good (read: no) credit score.

For the multiple 4rx.com, check the quantities for discount amounts..

*edit: Cost/Unit is regarding the cost per one box of 100 x 25mg.

        Hey Murphyx,

Yeah I did remember to convert the currency. Anyways I did this:

        1) Logged into 4rx.com.

        2) Added 1 x (100 x 25mg) Lioresal. List price for the box is $59.00

        3) Clicked 'Checkout' and added the cheapest (regular airmail) price to the order - which is $18.75.

Then I converted $77.75 to GBP, to get the ?48.43. Sorry for pushing this, but if any new users see the post then they'll take one look at your post count (compared to mine!) and automatically assume Bac is actually as cheap as $48!

Anyways, I'm glad I took that 20mg before bed. Hit the 'sweet spot' and slept like a log! woke up at 5am feeling wide awake and fresh (as opposed to hungover). I think I'll stay on this dosage for two more days before titrating. That is..

          6am: 5mg.
          10am: 5mg.
          2pm: 5mg.
          6pm: 10mg
          Bedtime / 8pmish: 10mg.

Joe, we were talking about the weekly cost at 300/day. The quantity you order will determine the shipping costs per pill. You're not going to order one week's supply at a time and throw away the pills you don't use by the end of the week.

Yeah I can completely see what you're getting at, and I did state it was to be purchased one at a time on a week-by-week basis due to lack of money And with one 100 pill box at 300mg a day you will have just over 8 days worth instead of 7. So every 7th week you can give it a miss - but that doesnt detract from the point I was trying to make about the cost of being a bit skint and having to purchase a box a week - and that costing ?48

edit: of course with 4rx's free pills on re-order, that gets substantially more tempting

Joe, you can't order one week's supply at a time. The delivery times will vary enormously: from 1 week to 5. That's a seriously bad plan imo.

Aye I'm working that one out now. I've still got a fair few of the 10mg ones left, and 200 x 25mg. If I started ordering now and just used the ones I receive through the post when they come, then I can keep the others in reserve - and every 7th week don't miss it out, so theres an extra box spare every couple of months. Save a bit up every week and every few weeks buy an extra 200. Lots in reserve, (ir)regular deliveries = not running out.

Hey, just a quick update. Firstly though, I pretty much hit rock bottom over the previous few weeks with regards to drinking and family life. I was also a little bit argumentative in here, so I'd like to apologise!

Anyways, on my 8th day AF! Up to around 150mg Bac and its definitley helped, though willpower is still required / I don't think I've hit the switch yet. Either way being AF has been great, been getting up between 5am-6am every morning with our 5 month old. Helping out a lot more and generally enjoying not feeling hungover all the time!

Need to keep up this momentum, biggest challenge lies ahead. My sisters wedding next month - if I can get to there without drinking *and* not drink on the day / get through a big social event without drinking.. then I don't think I'll ever need a drink again (hopefully!)

Thanks guys I'm stopping the Citalopram though. Baclofen horny + Citalopram ages to orgasm just isn't an ideal mix!

Quick update! Been a bit up and down with regards to meds and SE's. I didnt end up quitting the citalopram when I said I would up there. I quit both the Bac and the Citalopram cold turkey on sunday, figuring as I've only been taking it for a few weeks I wouldnt have any withdrawals. I was a bit wrong! Nothing really serious, just anxiey, agitation, clammy / sweating. Wasn't too pleasant, felt a bit horrible on monday and tuesday before deciding to restart Bac again without the citalopram yesterday.

Weirdly enough taking bac without the citalopram has reduced my SE's by about two thirds. Nothing really! I've kind of dismissed the notion of 'daily dosage' in favour of taking a set amount (25mg) every two and a half to three hours. I wasn't sleeping too well before my sleeping pills arrived on monday, which meant taking bac at silly times in the night. Now I'm sleeping well through the night and the dosages have evened themselves out.

17th day AF! Worst day was tuesday with some of the baclofen withdrawal symptoms, seriously wanted a drink. Absolutely fine now I've started back on the Bac. Feeling fresh and clear headed without a headful of SE's

Joe, that's fantastic news mate, well done!

Taking your baclofen like that is definitely a better way of going about it than a daily dose as well. Sleep issues seem to hit everybody with baclofen, you aren't alone there. By far the best way to deal with it is by taking an afternoon nap. Unfortunately, it's also the most impractical.
