    Joes Baclofen Journal! (started 21/06/2011)

Weve sorted out a house move within the next couple of weeks :nutso: we're well excited. Feels like a fresh start, plus the new house has a pretty massive back garden for our daughter to play around in

Open uni, new house, abstinent.. it feels like its coming together at last

It's another drug based off of GABA like Baclofen is. While it is usual for alcohol withdrawal it is incredibly addictive itself. I guess that is why some claim that Baclofen gives similar effects, much more subtle but there are some similarities I notice.

You will become physically addicted to it faster then alcohol, only takes 1 month of dosing a few times every day. It was used in alcoholism studies before but not sure what came of that. I used it to get off alcohol in the past and while it works it is extremely hard to get off the GHB after you are done with aclohol.

Some of my best times in life were on it though, I was actually able to work 40+ hours a week and get promotions which is hard for me and I was able to attend the after work happy hours get togethers and only have a single drink. I rarely go to those sorts of things bet felt very social and wanted to go actually. I dunno it is sort of a double edged sword though.
I used this recreationally, and to help me sleep whilst following an odd shift pattern. I heard, and read that it actually wasn't addictive at all - and I never had any problems over the 6 months I and my friends did use it for (often taking it several times a week). Either way when it was classified by the government I was unable to obtain it any more. It's also easy to OD on it, which can be startling when you collapse uncontrollably all over the place. Usually you wake up feeling refreshed with no harm done.

Have just read a few articles on the addictive properties of GHB, but like I say I never experienced anything like that. I was a moderate to heavy user at parties etc, and I am the sort of person who can get addicted to stuff like valium, opiod based medications and the like. So very surprised I never felt much with GHB (well apart from the fun bit!).

Then again Coke never got me high either, and of course we all know Baclofen didn't do much for me either. I'm obviously just very odd!

              Thanks Bruun, RudyB

As of yesterday I'm halfing my Baclofen intake - hoping I can find a lower maintenance dose! A little tired of being both completely zonked / randomly falling asleep and tweaking / sweating all the time! Instead of taking a full 25mg tablet I'm taking half - and I feel strangely normal this morning lol. This way at least my Baclofen reserves will last a lot longer too!

I'll let you know how it goes

glad it's still going well, joe. i'm a little nervous about your halving your intake of bac. that seems quite a bit. why not go down more slowly? i'd hate to see you fall into old patterns after all this wonderful progress...
