    You guys would know best!

Hey guys I've come to learn that your combined knowledge of Baclofen far exceeds anything the internet can offer.
My old man has been drinking FOREVER his in his sixties and has suffered with asthma all his life, rather chronic asthma, he also takes two different types of blood pressure meds, so can anyone tell me if they know it to be safe or if they themselves take bac while having these conditions, I know where not medical professionals but if we wait around for doctors to come to the party it will be over.

      That's the key issue.

If that's a go, then start, but monitor his blood pressure. Some people have had issues with it. Other than that, I don't know of any issues.

As you say though, we aren't doctors.

I think he would like to drink alot less but not completely give up, his been drinking so long I don't think he even realises he has a choice! thats what i love about baclofen it allows you to have more of a choice.

          I'd be careful

Since Baclofen is a muscle relaxant, it will likely 'relax' the muscles which control breathing as well. There are people around here who report sleep apnea and shortness of breath, maybe as a result of 'relaxation' of the diaphragm or something. Underlying asthma may be affected by this. Maybe talk to his doctor about muscle relaxants generally and their effect on his breathing.
