If you believe the root cause of addiction is

And thanks, Rudy. I'll check that book out. I, too, did an "aya" treatment in the states, here in So. Calif. Total bunk. Some watered down tea...I don't know WHAT it was, but it wasn't aya. Gave me a headache was all. Have to go to the real shamans for the real deal

yeah, this was a real shaman from peru. he was the real deal, grumpy when i interpreted for him for a healing that he did, but basically good. sadly, he got thrown into jail in canada cause a woman (like 90 yrs old) died while in his 'care'.

emdr is the name of that, thanks. and yes, it's most helpful for those w specific and huge traumas. i, in my abundant small traumas of late, have employed it on myself, to some good effect. think i'll even ask a friend to help me with it, so i can quickly move past my fear of getting into a car and going out of my driveway.

get that book! at every page, i am finding useful ideas. it's truly brilliant, and just what i need to be reading right now. the chapter i am about to begin is on acupuncture!

      nite all. sweet dreams!

All of this is very interesting. I'll check out the book Rudy.

Re taking it ourselves, I'm worried enough about taking it with someone who does it for a living. But I'm sure the cost of doing it yourself is much more manageable for most of us. How do you know what they send you is real and safe?

B I read that Nat Geo article, and it does not sound like something you'd want to take by yourself!

That's what I'm thinking - but thousands of dollars on the other hand, put it out of my orbit.

Rudy, yep, and I read a bit of it every night although I've read the whole thing more than once. It's like a practice book for me now to keep me doing the affirmations and the changes to my thinking.

I'm really into this sort of stuff as well. I wish I had someone really experienced with ayahuasca or Ibogaine so I could do a home in the woods sort of thing instead of going to like a sweatlodge. I have a lot of experience with smoked DMT(same stuff in the ayahusca isn't orally active without another plant though).

Strangely when I'm in a deep depression an hour of DMT experiences will take me right out of the funk for like a month with no type of hangover or drugged feeling(well other then the psychedelic part!). I would really like to know how a longer experience in ayahuasca could help out. I never get any fear or anxiety from smoking it but it only lasts like 5 minutes. I did get a whole heck of a lot of insight into my problems out of it but that isn't scary. I know DMT can be healing but it is so hard to remember it all, Maybe these sweatlodge type setups help you get the most out of it. Oh and let us know if anyone tries this!
