Addiction Now Defined As Brain Disorder, Not Behavioral Issue!

    Hiya Special and :welcome:

There are ways to get bac to SAf, for sure. I'll let some of the other Saffies fill you in on this. Look for Tiptronic.
Has your loved one read the book and is s/he interested in finding a solution?

I am probably way out to lunch and way out of my depth, but please look at the following two links to Jay Goldstein, an MD active in the 80s and 90s, who focussed on the functioning of different compounds on different neurotransmitters (primarily to help patients complaining of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Maybe he's got something to offer.

          Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Institute

Jay Goldstein - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Its interesting, too, how he experimented with lots of off label applications -- but not baclofen for addiction. He was aware of baclofen's anxiolitic properties, though...
With profound appreciation to Dr Olivier Ameisen for his brilliant insight and courageous determination

Interesting. I know nothing about Dr Goldstein, but it would make sense to trial medications that only target specific neurotransmitters, as a way of trying to see which ones could be dysfunctional. If this is workable, it could be the best way of determining neurotransmitter problems, but you would wonder why this hasn't been taken up by other doctors or researchers.

Grat, sorry but I don't know anything about binaural beat meditation or measurements to do with it, but people who spend time on the Holistic part of this forum may know about it. You could try posting your question as a new thread there.
